I'd prefer having guys like Marifuji in the G1 than waste a space on the biggest waste of space of them all in Yoshi-Hashi, or having Nagata renege on his promise and take away that emotional moment.

Question is if they will be making it smaller blocks, throwing in everyone they can, or putting in a few Japanese outsiders. The last one I don't see them doing too much, but it's an easy way to handle the Kaito/Okada stuff and maybe show off an awesome talent like Okabayashi, but maybe it's like the NJ Cup where jrs are in. If it's a 19 show tour, then it must be the full 10 wrestlers in 2 blocks format. By my reckoning, there are 8 people from last year's G1 who'd need replaced. The following are heavyweights who have been on recent shows: Suzuki, YOSHI-HASHI, Makabe, Nagata, Yujiro, Kojima, Tenzan. If you add in Hiromu then you're back to 20. Obviously folk won't be too keen on YOSHI-HASHI & Yujiro being present, and I'm not sure if Nagata would be willing to renege on the "This is my last G1", but he could undoubtedly still go if they needed him. Suzuki, Makabe and Kojima would be good to have back. Honestly I'd be cool with Yujiro coming in, too. Tenzan confirmed that G1 26 was his last one, after Kojima gave him his spot. For the remaining spots, Hiromu would be a good addition; I think the junior heavyweight champion merits a spot in the tournament. Despy could potentially fill a spot too, similar to Shingo last year. 2-3 top stars from other companies would be great to have, though.

YOSHI-HASHI is so close to winning his first title, and only his buddy Okada stands in the way.
Interesting of them to go the CHAOS vs. CHAOS route for the finals, but I like the decision. Also, whatever the hell Ishii was doing, I want to see more of it. Reminds me of that dropped angle where some of CHAOS was not ready to play nice with the Hontai.

So I landed tickets for the Jingu show. Picking them up today at an Ice Ribbon show where Mio Shirai makes her one day only in ring return, so pretty excited. With any luck I’ll see Naito win double champ twice in one year lol

I’m excited for the G1, but I’m depressed as I’m supposed to be travelling from U.K. to Japan on 24th September, but with how everything is going I doubt that’s going to be happening.

Potential matches are coming together for KOPW with special rules:
Desperado challenged Kojima to a match where the bout ends when one of the competitors hitting their finisher (Lariat vs. Pinche Loco). SHO continues to challenge SANADA, and it seems like that will be a submission match. BUSHI has now challenged Yano. Okada and Yujiro are facing each other (either handicap or lumberjack).
Also, final card for tonight:
Gabriel Kidd & Yuya Uemura vs. Gedo & Yujiro Takahashi Yota Tsuji, Tomoaki Honma & Togi Makabe vs. Ryusuke Taguchi, Satoshi Kojima & Yuji Nagata SANADA & Shingo Takagi vs. DOUKI & Minoru Suzuki Master Wato, Hiroyoshi Tenzan, Kota Ibushi & Hiroshi Tanahashi vs. Yoshinobu Kanemaru, El Desperado, Zack Sabre Jr. & Taichi BUSHI & Tetsuya Naito vs. Taiji Ishimori & EVIL NEVER 6-Man Tag Team Championships: CHAOS (SHO, Toru Yano & Kazuchika Okada) vs. CHAOS (YOSHI-HASHI, Tomohiro Ishii & Hirooki Goto)

I’m assuming sho/Sanada translates to some sort of title match, whoever gets one first. (Btw currently at ice ribbon and Jesus Mio Shirai has not lost a beat, immensely entertaining)

YOSHI-HASHI has won his first championship in NJPW, alongside Goto and Ishii, with Okada himself putting the belt around his waist.
Nice feelgood moment to have as the climax of the 6-Man tournament, combined with a really good (and fresh) six-man tag. Good job Gedo, now make the reign good.

Good for YOSHI-HASHI. I poke fun at him, same as the rest of us, but it's not out of any sort of malice, and I am happy for the guy. Doesn't hurt that Goto's good and Ishii's one of my favorites, so I never mind title belts on those two.

YOSHI-HASHI is a joke, but the man, Nobuo Yoshihashi, he's worked real hard for years and I'm happy for him. He has improved a lot in the ring.
Compare this to stiffs like Hirasawa and Yujiro.

The next best thing to actually Okada and Yoshi Hashi winning the tag titles themselves
Also much closer to my Ishii/Goto dream tag team run

New Japan have confirmed the 8 participants in the KOPW tournament and a few of the stipulations:
Okada vs. Yujiro Okada has chosen a 3-on-1 handicap stipulation where he has to face Yujiro, Gedo and Jado all at the same time Yujiro has chosen a 'lumberjack belt' match, where lumberjacks surround the ring and whip anyone who hits the ringside area with belts (Oh Yujiro)
El Desperado vs. Satoshi Kojima Despy has chosen 'Finisher Only' for his stipulation, where the match can only end after a finisher has been hit.
SHO vs. SANADA
BUSHI vs. Toru Yano
Outside of Okada, Yujiro and Despy, no one has named their stipualtion yet.
I hope Kojima wins vs. Despy and goes onto the 4-way. With the limited roster I think (and hope) he is in the G1 this year.
New Japan has also confirmed the rest of the Jingu Stadium card on 08/29 so the full lineup is as follows:
EVIL vs. Naito
Taichi & ZSJ vs. Tanahashi & Ibushi for the tag titles
Hiromu vs Ishimori
Shinjo vs. Suzuki for the NEVER title
The KOPW 4-way
Master Wato Vs. Kannemaru

White has teased a surprise for Jingu Lord, I’ve been wanting his return so bad. I don’t know if we’re getting a Darkness Club and Team Switchblade alliance, maybe a feud, but I also feel it’s way too soon for another Bullet Club civil war after Firing Squad vs. Elite a while back.

They really can't do BC war until they got all talent back but it would be welcomed for me EVIL is the new big player in NJPW. Let him get BC and reshape it as the first Japanese leader while White gets his own group in his own image. The big time players would be leaders of their own group sans Ibushi and they have been teasing Ibushi with SUZUKI-GUN

The Jingu Stadium show should be a good one, although I didn't care for EVIL vs Naito the first time, hopefully it's shorter. The other title matches look promising. I think the KOPW tournament could be fun, really intrigued by Kojima vs Despy and Sho vs SANADA could be good as well.
As far as the G1, hope Nagata and Tenzan don't renege on their retirements. I think Nagata can still do it at a top level, but his final tournament was so good, why do it? Kojima never officially retired from it and he can still go, so I wouldn't mind seeing him in it. YOSHI-HASHI isn't my favorite, but I'm guessing he's in. Maybe Jay White and Fale can return in time for the tournament as well.
