Okada says that he will not challenge for the IWGP title, and instead has plans for some other "interesting" thing to do. You know, this could actually be an interesting thing for Okada's character. Especially after the "get on my level" stuff with Yujiro, it'd be interesting if he saw himself as "too big" for even the title now (especially since he feels the whole "double champion" thing is dragging it down below his level).

If they start building enough consistent main eventers, they could have Okada turn heel and act as someone who wants to show most people aren't in his level.

I wonder if the reason Okada isn’t using The Rainmaker as much is because he feels he doesn’t need to bust it out. Get on my level Okada would be cool.

Anybody know where Tiger Mask has been? I think Tiger Hattori's retirement was the last time we saw him.

So, gonna go ahead with the face Kento and Kaito thing he teased a few months ago? I think Kaito is going to be in the G1. They’re both talking way too much for a match not to happen. Edit: He made a comment basically saying it's not Kaito so who knows lol

Has anyone reported when some of the non-Japan wrestlers might be able to appear again for NJPW? I assume that once they arrive in Japan and quarantine for 14 days they would be ok. I'm dying to see the dynamic in BC once Jay White and KENTA return. As of now, Japan is being very selective with overseas residents who can come back. Given the status of Bushiroad I think those guys might be back sooner than later but it's no guarantee. I kinda think EVIL/Togo are gonna split off from BC and do their own thing once those guys get back though.

I think the original idea was to have EVIL start his own stable with the guys who were dojo grads but still lower rung but COVID made them join ideas

It seems like Yujiro may end up going an unexpected direction with the inevitable Bullet Club shakeup on the horizon. Apparently Okada's idea is big enough to merit a press conference, whatever it may be. Anybody know where Tiger Mask has been? I think Tiger Hattori's retirement was the last time we saw him. Aw geez, sorry to hear. Glad that he's been able to get back to exercising so soon, definitely a good sign.

I guess not working with another company puts the rumors about Okada accepting Kaito Kiyamiya's challange to a match in Jingu to rest.
My guess: triple threat scramble.

Yes, so far there's been plenty of non-citizens both with or without permanent residency who've had problems getting back into Japan. Basically you need a very good reason as to why to enter, or why you left in the first place. While the average Japanese citizen might not care much, I bet there would be at least some upset voices if the immigration bureau were to let some high profile not-exactly-essential entertainers in, while still screening out regular people with full-time jobs and relatives in Japan.

Also, PLEASE do not tell me Shingo's next challenger is YOSHI-HASHI. Not even COVID-19 can stop Yoshi-Hashi from getting his annual NEVER title shot. I like Tacos as much as the next person, but that'd be a very anti-climactic way for Shingo to join the defense record tie.

My wild guess/hot take is that he may do an exhibition with Tenshin. Tenshin mentioned Kaito and Okada in an interview recently. Crazy, I know, but I want credit for such a dumb take if it happens lol.

Putting the title back on Naito is probably a good move EVIL was big time elevated by just having the titles and is now the unofficial 5th man in that big 4. Can put the title back on Naito before the G1 as I still think they are setting it up for Ibushi to get his time I definitely can't see them going into the Dome with EVIL as champion, Naito getting the belt back definitely makes sense. Definitely could see Ibushi winning at the G1 and getting the job done at the Dome, just hope they don't kill each in the match. Curious to see what Okada ends up doing. Would love to see him have inter-promotional matches. Speaking of that, wonder if they bring any outsiders in for the G1 with the gaijin talent not being there. If not, I could see Hiromu and a couple of juniors, along with Kojima and Suzuki in the tournament. As far as the results, sad Despy lost, and while I expected Hiromu to lose, they did a great job at teasing his win. I would have went nuts if he actually won.

I'd love to see him back, as well.

I honestly really dug the Goto/Yoshi vs. Shingo/Sanada tag on the 26th, I'd be happy to see more of that.
And yeah, whatever the plan is for the IWGP title, the general expectation pretty much has to be that the belt will be on one of the big four guys by the time we get to the buildup for Wrestle Kingdom, though I guess we'll see how COVID shakes things up.
