The article is somehow trying to blame G4's financial struggles on Frosk. Which is the dumbest f***ing thing I've heard in a couple of weeks. Also for how horrible this tweet is supposed to be, this article doesn't even link to it apparently. Bounding Into Comics is a terrible site. Do better. Yeah, Bounding Into Comics is one of those, “If you use this as your source, I immediately can’t take your argument seriously” type sites.

Why is this about the website that was posted? I saw the meme elsewhere and it was a very f***ed up thing to do.

Maybe they could've linked to the actual offending tweet than a racist, misogynistic, and homophobic site that mentions the tweet and paints it in the worst possible context but doesn't actually post it.
I also have no idea who this person is and to be honest, I don't particularly care who they are either. But if you're going to introduce something they did into a conversation as this shocking offense, check your sources and present actual evidence of said wrongdoing (like the actual f***ing tweet).

And as expected at this point, G4 is dead again.

I loved G4 back in the day, but there's already a plethora of gaming content on YouTube.

Bringing G4 back as a TV network was a mistake, imo. Hell I honestly didn’t even know it was on TV for the first few months of its return. I legit thought it was brought back as just a brand for streaming on Twitch and YouTube, and in hindsight that’s probably what it should have been brought back solely as. Being a TV network likely meant a crapload more overhead than they really needed.

Grew up with the original tech tv and g4, liked them both a whole lot but this was clearly coming at some point.
Content wasn’t there, it’s been done better all across the internet and honestly, they seemed to outright antagonize their viewers at times. Can’t do that with the most niche of niche audiences, you may or may not be right but don’t just dare your viewers not to watch.

This was destined to fail pretty much from the onset.
And while I was not a watcher things came across in reccomendations etc that just reinforced how bad it was and what clips I did see made it look like a complete trash pile nothing I saw was about gaming or tech but just bottom of the barrell unfunny sketch comedy.

It was a cool concept in nostalgia, but it was bound to fail. Should have made it a YouTube thing instead a full channel with minimal content... again in 2022

Blaming Frosk is wrong. Personally, I respected her rant on G4 fans. I imagine she had to go through some bs with trolls and her basically saying, "I'm a girl, I'm a gamer, and I'm not here to be your eye candy." was commendable. And I say that as someone who enjoys eye candy. Her tweet basically crapping on those laid off employees was pretty shitty, however. Honestly, I didn't think G4 would succeed the first time it was on the air. If you're a gamer, you're going spend your time playing games and not watching tv. Now with twitch and all these competing sources for our eyeballs it's a lot tougher. I feel bad for Adam Sessler, Kevin, and the completionist as well as all the people who lost their jobs though.

Relaunching G4 was probably a mistake for a lot of reasons, but Comcast really is the dirt worst.
I feel for everyone losing their jobs.

Maybe they could have relaunched the channel as a digital subchannel where they have less pressure to deliver ratings, but than again, I don’t know if that would have worked either.

Nathan Grayson from Washington Post is reporting that some of the major content creators who worked on the channel during this reboot were charging daily rates between $25k and $30k. If these major creators were regulars that would be be major money sinks for the network(we’re talking $1.3 million to $1.5 million for the year if they only made one appearance each week for the year).

They were doomed when they came back in formats that weren’t G4. It wasn’t appealing to me, an old G4 viewer. How would it appeal to their core audience let alone a new one. AOTS was a couple day a week show half done at a desk like a podcast? What?

I don't know the ins and outs of the fiscal side of this stuff and won't act like I do, but... $25-30k a day? What? That sounds like lunacy.
