So other than being an incorrigible person, is Ellen DeGeneres herself doing anything wrong?

And that line "recover her personal brand" is what is wrong. Take us gymnastics who had an amazing image or brand but underneath was letting gymnasts be abused. It's all about protecting "the brand" and nothing else is important.

It says a lot about Ellen that she'd rather just end the show entirely than contribute to making a toxic work environment less toxic.

Ellen has always come off so fake and disingenuine, throwing out money and prices to people and passing it off as genuine care. It feels like she's always been in it for herself and especially the reaction. This isn't even the first stuff that's come out about Ellen it's been like a storm for the last month. Like Kimmel I'm shocked that her show is still being shown on ABC with the crapstorm that's been happening but maybe it's a matter of time and the investigation confirming these things... Not to change the subject, but what happened with Kimmel?

Might've been both, but Kimmel's Karl Malone impression, complete with a fullbody makeup job to make him look Black, from his The Man Show days was dredged back up to the surface and he had to own up to it.
Strangely enough, that was probably one of the less offensive things to come out of The Man Show.

Difference is...Kimmel had moved on from that. He's apologized. People can change. Also, as bad as being in blackface is, Karl Malone himself has done things WAY worse with no apology.

This isn't about Malone tho However, he should long been dragged through the coals for what he did

The whole vibe is Nice and Fun and Positive; the show couldn't come back from this. Ellen herself is actually getting minimal splashback from this, but the show's ruined.

Look at how hastily she seems to want to cash out.

Heard that James Corden's next to take over the show. He's just as bad.

Not to change the subject, but what happened with Kimmel? I think he had an old blackface skit he had to talk about recently and how sorry he was for it Or that might have been Fallon It was Fallon. He played Chris Rock. Much like Kimmel and Malone, it wasn't blackface as blackface is supposed to be interpreted. IE, exaggerated features and mannerisms with bright red lipstick as a continuation of a minstrel show staple rooted in racism and discrimination. It was them putting on makeup to impersonate a celebrity, the type of thing SNL and variety shows do 3 dozen times a night and no one bats an eye. But because of the original type, people will be angry from now until the end of time despite them apologizing.

What is it with America and loving unfunny British comedians? Germany took the Hoff, we had to get back at them! But geography isn’t our best subject, so you get us importing Cordon instead.

What is it with America and loving unfunny British comedians? Because we're trying to get away from all the unfunny ones we have.

And we can't hold people responsible for something done 20+ years ago by todays standards. Especially when they come forward and say it was wrong. Also Fallon's impression of Rock wasn't steeped in racism. It was a damn good impersonation, not meant to offend, but to entertain. Certainly we'd scoff at it these days and it wouldn't be OK. But trying to bury people for things decades ago is weak.

I read that Ellie Kemper hosted 'Ellen' a few times, just give her the job, saves you from designing a new logo and everything, just gotta change a letter.
