It feels like they're dragging their heels (no pun intended) waiting for something, but what is that something? Rampage?

That was my other guess, waiting for seasoned women with commitments to other organizations to become full time. Deeb (I know she just finished with NWA) and Rosa being two prime examples.

They were putting both of them over hard on commentary the past 2 nights' Dark and Elevation. Wouldn't surprise me to see both of them get shots leading into All Out.

It feels like they're dragging their heels (no pun intended) waiting for something, but what is that something? Rampage? Having the first Rampage in Pittsburgh, Baker is on the cover. I think Nyla is a transition feud for Tay and Statlander. Maybe a three way at All Out. I also hope the women become a focus on Rampage.

It feels like they're dragging their heels (no pun intended) waiting for something, but what is that something? Rampage? I'm getting that feeling, too. Hirsch, Velvet, and Swole have been absent from all of the webshows, which makes me wonder if any of them have mild injuries (too small to be announced but enough to be quietly pulled like Luchasaurus has been lately). It's a lot of why I was taking the Trinidad possibility more seriously than I normally would have - there's this pervasive feeling that nothing is moving, even moreso than normally, and even odder because there are so many more potential moving parts than in previous times when the division was this stagnant (which is saying something given the status quo). At least Kris Statlander seems to be clearly set up as the next title challenger after Nyla, which is better than the booking was at the pandemic's height when they had so many fewer wrestlers to work with, but something still seems off. The only possibilities that come to mind: it has something to do with the free agent pool waiting out their 90 days, or maybe Yuka's not the only TJPW wrestler coming this month and there'll be some fresh matches to energize the roster with. Or both. But given that they had some new, higher-quality indy tryouts at the Saturday taping alone, it's not like the roster is devoid of fresh matches just this moment.

That's way better than a torn ACL. I'm glad it wasn't as serious as it coulda been At least she has the crutches gimmick!

It feels like they're dragging their heels (no pun intended) waiting for something, but what is that something? Rampage? It’s felt like that for almost the entire existence of AEW, but for a few very short bursts of heavily featuring the women. This may just be what they intend the division to be.

I think part of the reason the division feels stagnant is that it's difficult to generate real momentum or interest in a heel vs. heel title feud, especially this particular one.
Britt is a charismatic badass but cheats in nearly all of her non-squash matches, plus she has an interference-running manager. Nyla is a badass powerhouse but is also a sadistic bully, and she also has an (incredibly shrill and annoying) interference-running manager.
The feud could theoretically work if each character was trying to one-up one-another in terms being a piece of shit heel, but instead both characters are portrayed as heel-leaning tweeners. The whole thing just feels odd.

The tag match was fine and entirely should have happened. It was meant to provide context to the future Dr. Baker/Nyla Rose title match. Like it was booking with a clear purpose (showcasing that Dr. Baker and Nyla Rose are both heels (of different flavors) who are deffo going to go to war for the belt.)

Heel vs Heel feuds rarely work. The problem is that you want someone to have a rooting interest in and that's hard to do with two heels. It might work if you had a theoretical Jay White vs. MJF feud where both try to out-scumbag the other and you just sit back in awe of the work both are putting in. But Britt vs. Nyla ain't really it.

Tay is higher in the rankings as she's #2 and I think Statlander is #4. Statlander is getting a more accelerated push right now in that she's getting on Dynamite and getting wins on name opponents like Bunny. Tay on the other hand it seems like they are just biding time with by just having her rack up squash wins every week on Dark. It does seem like they are trying to set Statlander up quicker which makes me think she probably will move up the rankings and get the next shot after Nyla loses. I do think either way they are going to be the next two challengers. Whoever gets the shot second is going to have a much better chance of winning it. Of the two I'm a bigger fan of Tay and think she has the bigger upside which is why I would be fine with her getting the title shot in August/September after Statlander fails to win it. I think Statlander is fine and has a lot of talent but I don't if she's someone I would build a division around either mainly with how out there her gimmick is.
