I'm kind of stuck at who would really fit. I've advocated for Davienne as a heater for Britt in the past, but she didn't seem to wow the people making those decisions. Jennacide and Freya the Slaya had similar tryouts, and don't have as much indy cred. Out of the roster, Emi Sakura and Jade Cargill feel like they need to be their own thing; meanwhile, Diamante, Serena Deeb, and Abadon feel like poor fits.
I could see Nyla Rose ditching Vickie and hopping on the Britt Baker train, given some of the promos in the lead-up to their match.
The US-side free agent pool also doesn't have a lot of wrestlers that I would really see in this role. Nevaeh and Allie Katch seem to be available, but neither feels right. (I could see Nevaeh, though.) Jessie McKay and Cassie Lee would be concentrating a lot of promo ability into one group, when they would be better used as their own thing. LuFisto could work, but feels like a stretch.
Yeah, I dunno. I'd be unsurprised if it turns out to be another down-low prospect like Jade rather than anyone who could be guessed.

Iiconics seems to be still dealing with the visa issues, so my guess is what you said in your last sentence, maybe they will call up someone like Ava Wilde(she has great presence).

Wilde's improved her look even more lately since the first Rhodes Academy show:

Since she's not exclusive to any one company, I wonder if we could see a Chelsea Green one-off appearance on AEW.

That first sentence, is she talking about back to Japan soon or that she will return to the US maybe for All Out?

Ok hear me out... Alpha Female as Britt's enforcer?
Pretty sure she's still very active. As long as travel permits from Germany she'd be a perfect choice

That first sentence, is she talking about back to Japan soon or that she will return to the US maybe for All Out? It's to the AEW audience I'm pretty sure, keep in mind it could be the English translation of a phrase that doesn't mean the exact same, I dunno about All Out but my guess is they brought her back to refresh audiences on her and the TJPW connection if they have a longer plan to do anything more. Joshi-scene corona scene has me a little worried at the moment (although TJPW seems ok outside of Pom the other week), but TJPW is about to try and invest in their Wrestle Princess build up so I imagine Yuka will be in a big match for that and busy with building. Overall this was a pretty lame excursion imo. As a fan I'd say it was not worth her missing the cup, but overall probably beneficial to her and TJPW (although AEW really needs to start plugging Wrestle Universe). I think if they are going to do these short stints, they need to bring Miyu Yamashita over whenever she can afford the time. I also am kinda thinking Emi's open-ended stay isn't just wrestling, but behind the scenes booking/agenting/negotiating. Also as long as I am spitballing, I think AWG wrestler/actress Waka Tsukiyama who just left her promotion and has ties to Emi may follow, although that's a stab in the dark lol.

Yuka's excursion this time around seemed to have one mission and that was to fatten her record up.
I think that's setting her up for a return down the line where she has a much better standing to do something.

And she was not worse than f***ing Rhaka Khan... Alpha has actually put on some fine performances.

If they want the AEW women's division to become mainstream, they should totally follow Henry's lead on Cambage.
He found a ton of the great athletes the E found, including Bianca. Imagine what AEW could do with that level of scouting?
Because lets be real, without Thunder Rosa, the women's division would be in shambles. Most of the "scouting" has come from three places. Japan, Nightmare Academy, Rosa. All three of those sources have gaps Mark Henry's scouting can fill.

Britt and Rosa are pretty much the top acts of the women division.

You don’t pick out talents like Bianca BeLair, Braun Strowman, help Jade Cargill get a WWE Tryout and go to bat for Daniel Bryan if you didn’t have an eye for talent.

https://www.instagram.com/p/CR_oTbFALbw Damn Serena is injured again. Btw that was a great promo. Truly unfortunate that the teacher student storyline with her and Tay was dropped, now it explains why Tay randomly tagged with Kris in the last Elevation.

Mel is still listed on the AEW website as a roster member. She hasn't been on an AEW show in over a year. I noticed she is working independent shows as they start back up. I wonder if she is still with them. AEW did remove Awesome Kong, Bea Priestley, Sadie Gibbs, and Shanna from the roster page, so I suppose Mel has not been released.

And that was before he was in the company in any official capacity. He's got a real eye for talent.
