It has potential
Could be a decent investment for The Rock if they can get it back running sometime after the pandemic or even before if he can put them in a bubble

Just saw it myself. That's funny. It's like a twist in an episode of Entourage.
I trust Rock with it more than Vince that's for sure.

Now, does WWE still co-promote it when it gets back? They are still on good terms with Dwayne, mostly, or so it seems. Or do they wash their hands of it once and for all?

Only if Rock is willing them doing a favor but since he took it off their hands, WWE might get minimal promotion if they buy in or pay for advertising

Why not?
It wasn't a bad idea, or doing badly before Corona hit.
I wouldn't be surprised if Vince doesn't end up back involved some how.

That's a power move he pulled More so to the extent that, he just purchased something from millions from his former boss. He's not standing on equal footing (yet) with Vince in terms of money but he got a bank he can touch for sure that he can pull these type of moves

Got to say, I'm glad. I really enjoyed the few games that I saw before COVID essentially killed it. Their kick offs and extra point(s) revamps being personal highlights.

Sure, 2020 hasn’t been weird enough, why not?
This honestly could either go one of two ways, it could be a genuine reinvention for the brand and it’ll do ok again...
Or it’ll be like when Justin Timberlake brought MySpace and f*** all happened.
There’s no other ways.

It's kinda smart. The Product, for the most part, was working. The Rock could sell a ketchup popsicle to a woman in white gloves, where if Vince told you that grass was green you'd have to double-check just to be sure.
This could work.

I can get it, the concept was working as it was.
And after the shit Vince pulled trying to buy it out from himself at a steep discount I'm glad someone else swooped in and took it.

I think that’s the other thing about it too. Regardless of what you think about Vince as a person, the days of him being able to sell ice to eskimos ended a long time ago. The press conference to introduce the XFL was embarrassing, the last couple of shareholders meetings have basically come off as him being a grumpy old man and even before age finally hit him, he wasn’t exactly ever a great interview with his history of tantrums and such. The Rock, however, doesn’t have any of that. If out of that group he’ll be the lead spokesman, it’s likely they’ll do everything to make it work and with the Rock promoting it, it’ll likely get more eyes on it then some 74 year old crankity old man trying to appeal to a certain audience.

This is so amazing! I am so happy for Dwayne and how far he came from his debut as Rocky Maivia. Vince is a failure doing anything but wrestling. Before he dies he needs to realize he is the best wrestling promoter but in the entertainment world he is nothing more or nothing less. The Rock, his former employee, has far passed Vince in the entertainment world and succeeded in the movie industry where Vince has failed. I hope and do believe Dwayne will be successful in this. He will have the right people working for him or with him. He was also a college football player and has to know a bit more than Vince does and also a bit more about the entertainment business as well.

People don't watch sports leagues because of who owns them. Rock will have a real uphill battle to get more eyes on the product if he doesn't get ESPN/ABC back as a partner. You don't get more eyes on your sport by losing ESPN, despite how shitty their programming is. Their promotion is vital to the growth or lack thereof of a sport in the US, ask tennis or boxing or the NHL.
