The Ozzy era can't be beat for me, but I alo appreciate the stuff with Dio, Headless Cross, and Tyr. I try not to focus too much on the name of the band and just dig the tunes for what they are. No love for Born Again? "Zero The Hero" may be the best non-Ozzy or non-Dio track Sabbath ever had. Haven't heard that one yet, but I should!

I think this weeks thread is 3 times longer than last weeks pitiful thread. Does that speak to more people watching?Or does it just speak to crazy shit per square inch? Some people may have come here just to see the chaos, and thereby reacting to it all night, gave us our most active RAW thread in awhile

I don't actually have that album, I have a Best of Black Sabbath CD that only features songs with Tony Martin on vocals. I felt saying all that would make the joke less impactful, so I went with TYR. The Ozzy era can't be beat for me, but I alo appreciate the stuff with Dio, Headless Cross, and Tyr. I try not to focus too much on the name of the band and just dig the tunes for what they are. I grew up on no-makeup-era Kiss. Love the original lineup, but I've always preferred the stuff they did with Bruce Kulick. I can appreciate a band that stays with the same people through their whole run and never really changes their sound, but I will always be more interested to hear a band that went through a weird experimental phase or whatever.

Born Again is a horrible, horrible album. If you are a fan of Ian Gillen being totally unrestrained combined with the worst screwed up production values of that decade then it's the album for you. I actually thought the first few Tony Martin albums were pretty decent, but he didn't have a ton of personality as a singer. It was like a studio singer showed up and fronted Sabbath for a while. The 90s era ones he did after they went back to him once Dio walked again were just sad.
This Raw tonight was the Born Again of wrestling shows. Or maybe it was those mid 90s era Sabbath albums with Tony Martin.

Born Again does have some great tracks on it, like Trashed, Zero the Hero, Disturbing the Priest, and Keep It Warm. I feel like it would've been even better if they got someone else to mix and master it, because the whole thing just sounds muddy as hell, and not in a good way.

The original KISS lineup gets a lot of love, but the 80s lineup absolutely deserves some credit. Eric Carr was a f***ing monster behind the kit and easily the best drummer they ever had. For my money, Creatures of the Night can stand toe-to-toe with any album from the original lineup.

This Raw tonight was the Born Again of wrestling shows. Or maybe it was those mid 90s era Sabbath albums with Tony Martin. Personally, I'd go with the Forbidden of wrestling shows. That album was made at the behest of the record company, and boy, you can tell.

Though again, I haven't heard a whole album of Tony Martin Sabbath. *shrug*

If you haven't heard it, you need to check out Ace's cover of Rock and Roll Hell from a few years ago. It's actually really good.

They even brought in Ice-T for one of the tracks, which...meshes about as well as you'd expect.

The most f***ed up thing about it? Shane ran off without paying them. Probably planned all along. He was sweating more than usual while figuring out the escape. Let's not act like Shane is the first promoter to pull that move.

I woke up this morning and saw #RAWUnderground showing up on Twitter, so I tried to read a review of last night's show.
I got a headache and couldn't finish it.
My day is a headache that a wrestling show I don't watch anymore gave me.
When will I learn

Perhaps they should license some Tony Martin Sabbath stuff to play during these fights on Raw Underground? I am amazed at any praise for Cross Purposes though. That was one of the two Martin 90s albums that were just sad. His first 3 are all pretty good (Eternal Idol, Tyr) to even borderline great (Headless Cross).
I think it is hilarious that Sabbath was one of the first bands that went into the Eastern Block after the Cold War. It's like "Yay, the Cold War is over! Now we get to see Black Sabbath....with Tony Martin."
