Well we can rule out Rusev to be a part of that new faction tonight...

With the ratings in a freefall it sure seems like a great idea to make the McMahons a focus again in 2020. That'll help! Bowser and Dr. Wily think they need to change up their plans and do something different.

Hopefully this results in Shane jumping off the Big Ass Fan atop the arena

I mean he is a draw to an extent (to diminishing returns over time, of course) but a few hours of promotion is probably not enough to see a spike in ratings tonight. Absolutely, a lot of us forget that he basically saved WM32 from a business standpoint.

So Shane o Mac is doing a mature version of the Crucible storyline with him as Ophidian?

This is how they bring back Lars Sullivan isn’t it?

So they're doing Shane's MMA plan, only it's like 10 years later, and doesn't make sense anymore.
So typical RAW booking then.

This was a disaster. Like some people will say it was a good kind of garbage for wrestling but for me like if you were presented that it was all just a complete disjointed mess that I dont know how you could greenlight it let alone want to continue it into next week.
Even Shane had a line where he went "Maybe we'll be back next week, who knows", what a great way to instill confidence in this. The camera cuts and presentation were also shit, generic music, just... overall a whole lot of nothing. So if it does pop a rating, I dont see it lasting.

I think that was the most surreal bout of complete wrongness I've ever seen out of WWE that wasn't like full bore gross-out humour. Obviously it's no Katie Vick, but in terms of something one could reasonably see on a wrestling show, everything about it was wrong and insane.

Not just Shane, but this whole stupid f***ing idea that was so goddamned stupid it made me decide to watch old Mike Tyson fights on ESPN2 instead.

As a one-off, given I haven't watched RAW in a long time, tonight's episode was about 40% car crash almost-Attitude "whoever put this show together is high as a kite" can't-look-away mess.
Unfortunately, it was also about 40% commercials, recaps, and nothingness. It also had terrible camerawork. Also the ending was basically just "heels stand tall in the ring", but in a different ring, after beating up a bunch of guys I've never seen before in a location we've seen a combined 10 minutes of, so it was completely meaningless.
It left a bunch of unexplained stuff hanging, with no actual leading cliffhangers to point to "this will definitely continue next week, you really need to come back and tune in again to see the exciting continuation/conclusion!".
In summary, the weird bits were entertaining, the other bits weren't, everything was confusing, and now I dislike RAW for different reasons to the ones I had before.
Keep trying, I guess? Maybe they'll hit on something with more... uh, I dunno, longevity? logic? answers?

the idea of a fight club could work to help get someone over bur WWE has no idea how to do that.
I felt like I just watched the beta test of Wrestling Society X
