They're dancers. It's their career choice. I think they might take it seriously. No shame there! At least they are presented as dancers right there, did not get a feeling they were supposed to be tough wrestlers. If they're in current NXT roster, then there might be a topic to talk about!

If WWE ever decided to go just full PG with their programming. > Then I'd absolutely not use any sort of sexuality in the show. That would be friggin' terrible. - But right now, I don't think WWE is doing any worse than any other programmings with similar age limits.

I liked how they were just over there gyrating up on their platform out of frame the entire time, even when the matches were going on and the crowd wasn't watching the girls, so they could splice in a quick shot of them every now and then to cover a bad edit.
What a meaningless existence.

Five years ago, they would've been the three top women's wrestlers in the company.

Holy heck if it is a PG already instead of PG-13 for example? I'm not sure.

I think it added to the whole "club" aspect they were going for anyways.

And here I thought it was regressive when AEW had their ring girls for the contract signing and Bash at the Beach. ... And it was, but this is even worse.

Who do they think they are? TNA?

They have more clothes on than 90% of the men. They are (likely) professional dancers who are practicing their profession and getting paid for it. You're welcome to tell them their career choices are sexist if you want? I don't think you get what sexism is. Being offended is just easier than logic for some people

Can't wait to see which bootleg Nitro girl end up marrying Dolph Ziggler.

I really don't see the issue. Are we supposed to live in an absolutely sexless environment? A copious amount of skeevy strippers is an essential aspect of the underground fighting ring aesthetic.

This, pretty much. Being a dancer, even an erotic dancer, is a perfectly reasonable career choice, if you wanna do it and you can get paid to do it (legally and safely), that's great, everyone's happy.
But if you signed up to be a wrestler, or... I dunno, a secretary, or a nurse, or a computer programmer, or a traffic cop... well then you'd be perfectly reasonable to object to being asked to perform such a role on the basis that "you're a woman, why don't you pretty up the place and do a little sexy dance in some skimpy clothes?", given it's not your job and it'd be pretty sexist and objectifying to suggest that it is just because you're a woman.
The slightly murky bit comes with WWE's general history of treating women as eye candy, but provided they treat wrestlers as wrestlers and sexy dancers as sexy dancers, with a clear division between the two, that seems fine to me. It would do them some good to be self-aware enough to realise and signpost that division though, given the whole Give Divas a Chance/Womens' Revolution stuff and the slightly dodgy reputation they have. Stick some non-wrestler sexy dancing dudes up on the podium and have some lasses do some fighting if you like, even things out a bit, equally valid scenario (but perhaps not one which meets their demographics).

There is something wrong in your fictional television show writing in pointless eye candy entirely for the purposes of having something for viewers at home to ogle at, especially when it only ever happens with women without any sort of similar treatment for men.

If they were the only women presentation show then sure, but there are plenty of women on the roster presented as fighters so I don't really see the big deal.
Plus there is the issue of framing this as being demeaning to these women when they can be having the time of their life getting paid and dancing. Why should they feel shame about it?

I've a little bit of Tom of Finland in me! I would love this to happen! I think there were a thread about this subject couple months ago or late last year where people had great analysis about this kinda stuff. If either AEW or WWE continues to add sex/dancers more into their products, I'm gonna bet it will happen! Ringside men and girls, that's more work for the models!

I have no problem with it at least in terms of how it portrays women. It's fine to have female dancers on the show. I just think it's lame.

I could see this being an argument if Bayley and Sasha and Shayna started having bra and panty matches that last 30 seconds next week... but... they’re still presented as legit competitors?

Yeah, I think this is being a little over-dramatic. Skeevy underground fight club has PG-13 strippers. Didn't make me think any differently about the presentation of the other women on the show, and they weren't oversexualized to a point where it was gross.
