1. he was this over-the-top savage from "deepest, darkest Africa" who apparently wanted to throw the babyface into a giant pot and eat them in the territories, . Not that it makes much of a difference but wasn't it Akeem that was billed from Deepest Darkest Africa? I thought Kamala was always billed as from Uganda since he was the Ugandan Giant. but yes, his gimmick was literally simpleton cannibal... to the point at one point he forgot how to pin people.

Kamala ruled. Let's be real here. If James Harris had stayed being "Sugarbear" for his entire career he would have worked nothing but crappy southern indie feds and gotten nowhere. Lawler and Jarrett thought up a ridiculous African savage gimmick and made people believe in him as a money drawing, main event heel. I actually find Kamala oddly endearing for a monster heel. Was UT/Kamala a good match? No. But it did have one of Taker's coolest entrances in the English hearse, and Kamala's freak out after UT sits up is a classic moment (even if it is, as noted, highly stereotypical).
If you wanted to edit Kamala out of anything WWE owns there's a bunch of their own shows and PPVs he was on, a bunch of Mid-South episodes, World Class, etc.

Have any Kamala matches aired on TV once FS1 started doing this? The only WWF ppvs he was on IIRC were Summerslam 92, Survivor Series 92, Rumble 93, and WM X-7. Were any of these shows (besides Summerslam) rebroadcast with Kamala's segments?

They've shown WM III and Survivor Series 1996 as far as other shows from 1985-1999.

Isn't Kamala a double amputee now? The disclaimer could be spun to say whereas the characterization isn't something that WWE currently agree with, the royalties for showing this match helps the real person behind the performance. Kamala passed a few years ago IIRC. But yes before he died he lost both legs. EDIT-Appears Jim Harris is still alive. I was sure I heard about him passing 2 years ago. Sadly he's just passed. How freaky.

Like, is Umaga a racist gimmick too? I also loved that. I mean, I did too but...yes. Yes it was. The fact it was booked in 2006 is, in hindsight, really bizarre.
