I've been watching through old episodes of Mid Atlantic, which frequently begin with clips from a big title match from a recent house show (Flair vs. Wahoo, Magnum vs. Wahoo, etc.)
So, I'm curious why they put the old TV episodes up, which are largely jobber matches, but they rarely put up any of these old house shows where there were more big matches. Is it because they don't have the footage anymore, or just cuz?
Any idea?

Because most territories didn’t film there big shows because they wanted you to pay for a ticket.
Tv wasn’t a money maker then it was all about the live gate.

Why did they air footage of so many of their big shows on their weekly tv broadcasts? Did they just tape that one match for the singular purpose of showing a clip or what?

Were those clips definitely from house shows or from Worldwide?
The Hidden Gems section does have 3 matches from a July 1983 Mid-Atlantic house show, plus the March 1984 "Boogie Jam" event.

I don't think they are from Worldwide, unless Worldwide regularly featured World and US title matches and big title changes.

The Rock and Roll Express beating the Russians was on Worldwide, and the Midnights winning the tag titles in 1986 was on a TBS special.

Flair vs. Wahoo for the World title, but Flair retained. Dusty beat Tully for the TV belt. Those are the main ones I recall seeing clips of on Mid Atlantic. A lot of times on Mid Atlantic, instead of showing matches from the studio, they show matches from arena shows from the previous week. World Class is another example. They show matches from their holiday Star Wars supercards on their weekly TV show, so where are those intact Star Wars shows? Does the footage still exist?

I'm not sure if the big WCCW cards ever aired as one big show, although neither did the JCP cards, yet WWE have released some of them on the Network. WWE did release that Dusty/Tully match in full on Dusty's 2006 DVD, but the show were it happened (1985 Bash) isn't on the Network. Mid-Atlantic stopped taping at the studio sometime in 1983 and took the tapings on the road.

I'm saying that since they were able to show us footage of those events on the TV broadcasts, they obviously taped them, so where are the tapes of those events that never aired and why aren't they on the Network? The Dusty/Tully match I'm referring to was from March 1985, well before GAB.

They may prioritize shows that were already fully produced for TV rather than shows that would need the downtime between matches cut or have no commentary besides voiceovers that were added later for the TV highlights.

They would show parts of it to continue a story and show fans at home a small part of what they missed out on. Some of the territory’s may have taped there big shows just to show clips of later or what not but a lot didn’t

Some of the territory’s may have taped there big shows just to show clips of later or what not but a lot didn’t I realize that. The question was what became of those house show tapings that they showed us clips from and why aren't they on the network, but I'm satisfied with cjh's answer.
