In truly surprising news, by all indications this game is a lame stumbling mess that doesn’t f***ing work. Stunning.

Who would've thought that a game that looked bad and sounded bad would turn out to be bad?

These are the same people that gave us Arkham Asylum and City. What happened?

These are the same people that gave us Arkham Asylum and City. What happened? Not the same people, most of them are long gone from Rocksteady.

{Spoiler}{SPOILER: CLICK TO SHOW} So apparently according to leaks, at the end of it, Harley lectures Batman about morality before killing him.
...Who the **** are you, a know accomplice to a mass murderer and terrorist and yourself a serial killer, to talk about having the moral high ground?

Sounds like the game is every bit as shitty as it sounds. Hope it flops.

I played about 5 or 6 hours of it during the Alpha Test. I found it decent enough fun to play. Not pay full price on day of release fun, but pick it up when it's either heavily discounted or available for free as part of a subscription I already have fun.
A story where the Suicide Squad kill the Justice League was always going to be bad but it would have been less bad in its own universe. From the story beats I saw, I think they could have had more fun with it if they didn't tie it into the Arkham universe at all and completely went with a new take on a video game Batman. If you're going to go all out, then go all out, you know? But then I guess they'd lose the few Arkham fans who were willing to try it out.

My expectations are rock bottom and I still expect disappointment. And I will have to be careful not to cut myself on its edge if some of the rumours of the plot I have heard are true.

But would Arkham fans even want to play a game that takes a flamethrower to everything they loved about the Arkham setting/stories? I loved Asylum and City (not as much Origins and Knight), but the story stuff I heard about Suicide Squad made me much less interested knowing it was supposed to be a continuation of the Arkham timeline.
I think it would've done a lot better to be its own self-contained playground. Like I would never say the Injustice games have a great storyline, but it's at least self-contained to its own universe and serves its purpose to setting up "this is why the DC superheroes are fighting each other."

That's why I said "few" Arkham fans. I agree, it should have been a separate thing. That's what my comment said.

Could his Caped Crusader role be the Grey Ghost? He played Phantom Stranger in an episode of Batman: The Brave and the Bold that has Hamill as The Spectre. They did a great job as those two. But more on topic, some reviews are coming in. Most seem to suggest it's a decent story, with a controversial moment that will anger people but repetitive gameplay and dumb features. However everyone seems to agree it looks stunning if nothing else.

Yeah dude deserves so much better than *that* being his send-off. That's a "Vince sends off Lita by having Cryme Tyme riffle through her undergarments" send-off.

That assessment of the game sounds quite like what people generally thought of Square Enix’s Avengers game: decent-to-great story bogged down by repetitive gameplay, live service BS, and baffling game mechanics.

Probably going to go lower because there are only four reviews so far and one of them is way higher rated than the others thus lifting the total, but the game's starting Metacritic score is 61. For those keeping track Avengers has a 67.

from what I've seen of it on twitch, it seems a decent enough story peppered with funny one liners. game play does resemble anthem/marvel: avengers in open world- travel to set point to fight a horde of enemies to get the next chunk of story/cut scenes and repeat.
Samoa Joe seems to have done a good job voicing king shark.
