{Spoiler}{Spoiler}The scene where Billy finally tracks down his mom is genuinely one of the most heartbreaking scenes in any movie, comic book or otherwise.
That scene is more adult and emotional than literally anything Snyder has ever made.

I went into Shazam with indifferent expectations and absolutely loved it. Great news about a sequel.

Looking forward to this very much. First one was a great movie. It was legitimately the best DC movie in like a decade.

I liked Aquaman more than Shazam, but they are both good films.

Glad to see they toned down the rubber padding on the musclesuit, and made it more believable.

Those are a definite improvement. Definitely prefer the more conventional chest logo and think the darker spots help make it look more appropriate for film without being too radical of a departure.

Still dont like that Marys costume is red. Everyone else is a different color but she gets Billys. She has used a white costume in canon so put her in one for the film.

The director, David F. Sandberg has confirmed that the film has finished shooting.
With DC Fandome coming back October 16th and a talk confirmed, seems to be the best date for when footage and/or a trailer comes out.

Wonder if they'll move up the release given the success of the HBO model, given waiting two years after the movie's finished filming to release it sounds absolutely insane.

I mean... they still have to do all the special effects and everything... so even if it's finished filming there's still a shit load of work to be done on a film.

Yea they may have wrapped filming but really that is the easy part now they have to add in all the special effects etc and then worrie about maybe having to reshoot something or whatever else some nutty studio head does not like in the notes he sends to the production etc.

Wonder if they'll move up the release given the success of the HBO model, given waiting two years after the movie's finished filming to release it sounds absolutely insane. That's not uncommon for a big budget movie. Filming wraps and then a first cut is edited together. That can take as long as several months. Then the cut is screened for the studio execs, who give their feedback and order reshoots, which usually adds another 3-6 months depending on availability of actors and crew. After that comes the second round of editing, which is usually not too long (depending on the extent of the reshoots), followed by test screenings. After that there's the third round of editing based on feedback from the test screenings, and assuming everything goes well the picture is locked and just waiting for the visual effects to be finished. Under normal circumstances a movie can expect to be released anywhere between 9-18 months after filming wraps. Two years is a rarity, but far from unheard of.
