I dunno if he's ruined yet but we've all seen it happen before with NXT callups so I can understand the gut negative reactions. Nak started out with just an annoying font change on his tron and then...

Beyond the awful theme and gear changes, beyond the fact that he lost his debut singles match by DQ...have Keith and Drew interacted at all, either on the main roster or NXT, prior to tonight? Because it seemed like they pulled that bit of character completely out of thin air. They’ve been portraying them as friends, but almost entirely with the YouTube stuff. Particularly the 10 minute or so video they put out of them training together last week for their respective weekend matches. You can't expect the general wrestling public and casual fans to just roll with that without any sort of context is the issue. Lee literally just debuted to a set of new eyes and everyone's just forced to accept he's Drews good friend? It takes two minutes to establish their bond and they couldn't even do that. Plus, when he came out, he had no inclination he was doing anything for Drew, and then they made it about Drew and about "Keith fighting his battle for him" It completely undermined Lee's entire point and immediately made him look like a second fiddle that vanished the second Drew showed up. It's just really bad booking and one of the worst first impressions I've ever seen. This dude was a DOUBLE CHAMPION last month, this is just sad.

Nak started out with just an annoying font change on his tron and then... Nakamura still had his theme and himself, was still incredibly over until his Mania Match with AJ I would say really f***ed him as did not being able to beat Mahal It USUALLY takes a few weeks or so for an NXT callup to get completely ruined or immersed in the WWE stink. Keith's was an overload of bad decisions, that's why it sticks out so negatively.

I don't think it needs to be main event world title reigns or bust, but I'd like like good competent enjoyable content for more than like a few shows out of years on the main roster.

The attire change is such a long term trivial thing but tonight did no hope in what looks to be coming for Beef Lee.
He lost tonight by DQ
He is very likely losing either again by DQ or just outright losing
THAT is not a good start and it damn sure aint smart booking.
IMO Keith should have debuted against Rollins because Rollins losing to Keith would not hurt him at all and could set up for an even bigger feud down the line...maybe even when Keith inevitably feuds with Roman.

They changed his theme?
I'm almost ready to call it intentional by this point.

Going into here without looking at any other replies on here (honestly, I can easily guess what those would be like, and it'd just make me want to not say anything at all), so my take is this...
Bad idea to change the music, because that was working just fine the way it was. If it HAS to happen, the gear change can work with a bit of tweaking (making it into a Mark Henry-type singlet without the baggy shorts would look fine). Finally, I'm not sure he should've been put with Orton literally the first match in because that's one of those "booked into a corner" scenarios they love so much where they can't book a f***ing finish because neither can afford to lose. That said, they clearly wanted him to be right at the top level straight away, so which heel could he have beaten that was credible, but can also afford to take the loss (basically, not Ziggler)? Notice I didn't mention him shaving his beard (if that was indeed a criticism), because he'd go back and forth between clean-shaven and beard in NXT a couple of times.

You could have set your watch to this.
How soon before he's in a tag team with Apollo Crews?

Without seeing what anyone else has said I'll say that yeah changing the music was a bad move, him having that new look isn't great, the result of the match makes you think but what I really appreciate is the fact that he's immediately thrown in this Orton/McIntyre thing. Orton's the guy who challenged for the world title last night on Summerslam, he's a guy who took out the world champion tonight, the fact Keith is immediately thrown into that shows that they think of him as a big deal. His loss wasn't also decisive.
Basically, the faults here aren't faults that they wanna bury him or they think he's trash, they wanna make him a big deal and they made some missteps in that. We'll see where this goes within the next few months or so. I'm actually glad he didn't start at the lower level and they're bringing him in to be somebody serious from the jump as they should. The booking direction of a superstar is first and foremost, we'll see what happens.
Overall those missteps are disappointing but I'm liking the fact they want him to be seen as a major player so given that, I'll keep my eyes out on what they do with him. It's easy to change someone's music and look, it's harder to change how they're booked.

Seeing more pictures now, he's dressed like he's Shorty G's taller friend, who also plays pickup basketball.
