Why can't this be light hearted? Having them in high school would give it a new spin but keep the same type of humor. I think it could easily make this work.

Man the CW really throws money at anything huh? While this show in particular may sound like trash, the CW has quite a bit of programming I enjoy between the Arrowverse and Riverdale. And I keep meaning to watch Supernatural one day. Also, you never really know. This sounds terrible on paper, but so did Riverdale.

I like some CW shows like The Flash and The 100 but they do have a formula with unnecessary drama, imagine that in a Powerpuff Girls show Also, I dropped Riverdale at the end of S3

Between this and the lived action One Piece from Netflix, we are really swinging for the fences

There were a few moments in the original PPG show where it did get more serious, mostly the girls beaten down or near death, or the time Him showed them a nightmare world. Those were pretty rare though.
Riverdale works because the Archie characters have a longer history of alternate serious and grittier Archie comics to draw on for stories, whereas PPG has always been fairly goofy. I’ll reserve my judgment until it airs, but I’d imagine a project like this would be tougher to pull off with this kind of IP.

Really right from the word go trying to sell a serious adult show around characters named Blossom, Bubbles, and Buttercup seems like a losing battle to me. Archie and Jughead are also certainly not common names but they’re not... that and you do have more standard names in the core cast.

Everyone's losing sight of the real issue here:
Will the girls actually have fingers or will they still have their flipper arms?

Why can't this be light hearted? Having them in high school would give it a new spin but keep the same type of humor. I think it could easily make this work. It was decreed by Hollywood six years ago that everything has to edgy, wangst filled and nihilistic and those who complain about it don't understand true art

It was decreed by Hollywood six years ago that everything has to edgy, wangst filled and nihilistic and those who complain about it don't understand true art We have had a fair mix of light-hearted superhero stuff like Shazam, the Guardians, Ant-Man and the recent Spider-Man stuff countering things like Joker and Logan (which is good) recently. To be fair, we have no way of knowing if this is SnyderPuff Girls yet.

And the Archie horror comics being a good draw a few years back helps too Still want my Riverdale/Supernatural crossover where they enter the Afterlife with Archie world

So... more Crazy Ex-Girlfriend? No. reboot PPG? Yes. (And I know CXG is pretty much over. For many reasons. )

It is sad that whenever I see someone on the CW these days I never trust it'll be good. Hell my cousin is gonna be on there soon and I'm just like "hope they do you right."
This sounds bad.

Can't be any worse then the 2016 series. Atleast we wont have some writer OC trying to hook up with one of the girl or a predator writing episode about the girl twerking.
