It’s been a funny old few months in the beautiful game. After a short summer break, leagues are starting up again, so it’s time for a new, shiny football thread. As per usual, please keep it civil. A bit of light piss-taking is fine, anything more is too much.
Eze is a magnificent capture for Crystal Palace. Him and Nathan Ferguson bring some much-needed youth into an aging squad. There's also rumours about bringing in even more youngsters, including the 18 year old Bochum defender Bella-Kotchap and that one lad from Ipswich.
At last, some excitement instead of having to look forward to dreading water in mid-table.
1. Liverpool 2. Man City 3. Chelsea 4. Man Utd 5. Spurs 6. Arsenal 7. Leicester 8. Wolves 9. Southampton 10. Everton 11. Leeds 12. Burnley 13. Brighton 14. Sheffield United 15. West Ham 16. Newcastle 17. Crystal Palace 18. Aston Villa 19. Fulham 20. West Brom
FA Cup: Chelsea (Though hopefully it’s Arsenal again since that trophy is basically ours at this point) League Cup: Man City (Always) Player of the Year: Christian Pulisic Championship: Bournemouth, Watford, Brentford
Champs Lge: Bayern Europe Lge: Arsenal (screw it why not) Euro 2020/1 (If it happens): Germany
As for the big European leagues I really hope somebody can challenge Bayern and Juventus. Inter should hopefully challenge Juventus but fell away last year. No one is challenging PSG unless Lyon recreate their Champs Lge form. I see Barca getting the title back from Real Madrid despite this unrest recently.
