Someone in the HIAC live thread said it but Reigns is like literally psychotic right now and it's so good; like it's not cartoony or goofy, like he can go from sobbing to cruelty to immediate pride and it's so fascinating to watch.

He does the little things so well. Like when the officials came to the ring and Roman went out to get the steps, He closed the cell door saying "Might as well close this, Ain't nobody leaving". Dude is on another level than anyone else in pro wrestling at the moment.

Roman’s trash talk is on another fxxxing level. Everything he said was savage AF and delivered perfectly, Telling his own cousin “I swear to god I’ll take your last breath” when he had the choke in. Turning it back on Jey when he refused to quit “Now you making me look bad, what am I gonna tell MY kids.” I’m sure there was more but those two stand out the most. That took me out. I’m like you arrogant dickhead lmao. He said what I’m going tell to my kids while Jey getting his ass whooped like he Tito Jackson

Then proceeded to say I love you with the coldest stare in his eyes

Who knew Reigns was this good? Honestly, I think a lot of people knew. There's a reason he was getting pushed and it wasn't nepotism. People in WWE were always praising him and talking about how fast he'd learn and how coachable he was. People in wrestling always saw this in Roman. Vince and others just tried to force it their way and their way was not working. Even things we're seeing now have been there all along. We saw the swagger with the Shield, especially at the end of their run when they turned face. I remember the 2013 Survivor Series match, Roman was trash talking Rey the whole time. Roman's always been this good, he was just handcuffed from showing us.

I know he's not related to Roman (Or is he?) But I really want Samoa Joe to somehow align himself with Roman Reigns. Joe probably had the line of the night on commentary when he said that's a man who wants to be a Chief but is an absolute Tyrant Joe ain't with none of that

I love Samoa Joe, is he someone that could believably challenge Reigns, or has his character suffered too much? Because that sounds absolutely badass. Moreso than Reigns vs Rock.

Joe is still a guy who can believably choke out Roman and they can def do a feud where if Joe speaks up to Roman and Roman chastises about not even being apart of a family But The Rock vs Roman is def where it is at in terms of a big money feud.

Who knew Reigns was this good? In ring wise, everybody should have known he was this good. For years Roman has consistently been putting on banger after banger matches, when not saddled with something stupid like the Corbin feud. He's gotten the best one on one matches out of Braun, he's faced Owens a lot and every time it delivers, he and AJ were a guarantee MOTY contender, and he and Bray at worst would put on a solid match. What hurt him were the angles for his matches. Like against Joe, it was the same Roman angle we've seen countless times. Someone in the HIAC live thread said it but Reigns is like literally psychotic right now and it's so good; like it's not cartoony or goofy, like he can go from sobbing to cruelty to immediate pride and it's so fascinating to watch. And Heyman's terrified. He unleashed a psychotic monster than he can't control. He never begged Brock's opponents to quit or stay down, he was never afraid of what he saw Brock doing. Every single member in this angle are beyond delivering.

WWE is lucky they have this going on because amidst the absolute sludge that WWE is right now, especially RAW, this is one of the best things in Wrestling going on right now, is this storyline, and this character for Roman Reigns
If Vince did anything right in this situation it was give Roman creative control (WHAT A BOLD MOVE, WHO WOULD HAVE THOUGHT THAT WOULD WORK?) and this character has only gotten better and better due to that.
As I said before and I will say again, if you need any indication of how Vince can ruin wrestling and ruin characters, looking at Vince-led Roman for over five years where he could not get over in a meaningful way to THIS Roman where it's his character and his ideas with some slight input? It's night and day. And it's why in a still Vince-led WWE that is full of so much bullshit, this is shining through, and while being on FOX helps, this is definitely why Smackdown is getting more consistent viewers than RAW is.

I really want to know if Roman just told Vince he's sick of being a square peg in a round hole baby-face being rejected by the fans every night, and insisted on turning heel. Roman has said in the Graves podcast that he was willing to retire and walk away for his family if he didn't feel safe But he kept working out and keeping himself ready for a return. WWE kept calling to see when he was ready to come back and he had assurances that would put his family and wife mind at ease and he'd be safe. He wanted a change but didn't want to come back fully changed Considering all that, I doubt he had to fight too crazy to make changes. Roman made the smart move. He knows how Heyman operates and how Heyman did him when he was paired with Brock. Now, Roman and Heyman can double team Vince with ideas and get their way. The most basic thing WWE/Vince did was probably tell Roman he is getting the strap upon his return and Roman has mapped out everything since

I still love Roman and am glad he's getting a run that plays to his strengths. That said, I can't ****ing stand the "hit a move, say dialogue really loudly for a while, hit another move" format of his matches with Jey. "Wrestling storytelling" does not mean you literally have to recite character motivations to the hard camera - it sucked when Ciampa and Gargano started doing it and it sucks here. Not to mention the constant, unceasing WWE branding - they said "The Tribal Chief" so many times last night that it became torturous.

If the WWE can keep Roman this interesting and enjoyable while continue to build Big E up as a main event player, with the culmination of both being a Universal Title match between them at Wrestlemania 37, it'd genuinely be their biggest success since Bryan's 2013-2014 world title quest.
The difference being they'd actually created this themselves rather than being forced into it by the fans.

I've been a huge critic of Heyman for a while, but his "what the hell did I create?" facial expressions last might were awesome and really sold Reigns as a total bastard.

I want Jey w/ Jimmy to take the man down.
