I'll give it this - there was no real way of knowing at the time (and if maybe WWE had some idea of it then why the f*** did they put him in a ladder match) but Bryan not slaying Lesnar at Mania 31 was a bullet dodged. If he had then just gotten concussed and had to temporarily retire anyway then you'd have been left with Brock's big push in the moment not having really amounted to anything, Rollins not having the moment that majorly established him with the mid-match cash-in, Reigns not having any clear direction, and nothing really to show for any of it.
I think their biggest screwup with Roman was the One Versus All bullshit. He was showing edge, he had gotten over, he was champion. He was where they wanted him to be. Then they want right back to ludicrously stacking the deck against him and kept on with the tedious Authority shit everyone was well and truly sick of by that point, and pretty much nobody wanted to see him fight Triple H. They probably should've just done the Lesnar rematch at Mania 32 or gone with Bray Wyatt as the Mania challenger or something.

They probably should've just done the Lesnar rematch at Mania 32 or gone with Bray Wyatt as the Mania challenger or something. He should have never been a challenger for a Mania title match after the first Lesnar match From then on, he should been showing up to Mania as champ and defending the title. You get a boring ass HHH match. A broken down Taker match in which Braun got the heat for that, and another BS Lesnar match where he got made to look like a chump They tried to have their cake and eat it too with not giving Roman the big moments but that also set him back because you can't keep putting in those positions to look bad if you really want him to be great This will be technically his first proper title reign, hopefully. He got suspended which shut his title reign down, had to relinquish it due to cancer and the other times were just a mess

You know what? I'm gonna say it. Let him hold the title for 505 days. Make him the longest reigning champion, instead of Brock Lesnar. With him as heel now you could eventually turn him face during the same reign so it would have legs.

God, I get the logic, I’m just so bored of wrestlers going after fans on Twitter. Maybe if there wasn’t so much of it, I’d be happier with Roman doing it I guess. It makes sense here though as in and out of kayfabe this is the easiest ever "you people" turn. Like, this is the exact time it should be used this way. And this is coming from me when I 100% complain about wrestlers going in on fans on socials.

And again, I’d be fine with it if it wasn’t diluted by all the times Baron Corbin insulted a marine or Nia Jax literally did anything. One of the reasons I harp on a social media policy is because when you can do stuff like this and get it approved by management, it would mean so much more to the story you’re telling instead of making your superstars look like complete assholes.

Honestly, I’d have still had Rollins cash in anyway and win even if Bryan was the one in the match instead. At least Rollins would’ve had a chance of getting some heel heat out of the damn situation. Reigns can be the one who beats Rusev for the US belt and Cena can do his open challenge with the IC belt, aka one of the few belts in WWE he has never won to this day.

I've seen reports that WWE always planned for Reigns to turn heel after this year's Wrestlemania, developing an ego after beating Goldberg. Not sure how reputable the sites claiming this are though

That tweet reads like it's written by a clapback committee startup of Netflix resignees, if we're gif'ing that it's setting a low bar. He's obviously naturally good at this and I don't get them constantly holding his hand with stuff. There's nobody in the audience and nobody cares about the company, just let him go raw on people.

I’d be fine with it if it wasn’t diluted by all the times Baron Corbin insulted a marine I know this is the hard opposite of the point you're making but goddamn do I love pro wrestling and the utter lunacy surrounding it when I look at sentences like this. This is so specific and so uniquely wrestling.

Be really obnoxious and be a pure heel until eventually you turn face a year down the line

So yeah, Meltz and PWI both say that Reigns is a heel. PWI said that Reigns is the lead SD heel, face will actually be Wyatt. Meltzer said the turn's been in works for a while and it's something Reigns has wanted for a while.

I hope they change The Fiend’s name to The Friend. His gloves can say “HEAL” and “HUGS.” It will be amazing. <3

One thing I'm confused by, I thought Roman already signed the contract on Smackdown when they revealed he was sitting next to Heyman?
