Man, f*** shareholders and f*** Vince. I don’t own enough WWE stock that I would consider myself a real “shareholder,” but I can sincerely say that I doubt the shareholders would endorse Vince doing something this tone deaf and triggering a massive backlash that has been picked up by actual, credible, media sources and politicians. I am not looking forward to seeing the stock price on Monday morning.

No way to confirm if this is the reason that Vince decided to lay down this decree, but if it is, it's even stupider. He is really treating COVID like it's f***ing Voldemort. Wtf AJ has covid??

Had, this was when he was gone for a curious amount of time after winning the IC Title, he revealed he had COVID on his Twitch during that time and it's why he was out. Given how WWE are about mentioning if you had COVID, I imagine they could have taken that poorly.

Not to be political but Vince has the exact same covid approach as he his ranking friend, ignore it and it doesn't exist.

What's the difference between Dwyane "The Rock" Johnson appearing in films, and other "Sports Entertainers" appearing on a different platform to make a living?
Am I mistaken that he was under a WWE contract while filming early in his acting career?
Is this some kind of "special permission" BS?

I forget who said it but I remember someone saying Vince secretly resented what wrestling had turned into. The new generation is all about Video Games and there's no confrontation anymore, and no sex, drugs, crazy partying, politicing to get ahead, etc.
Essentially, Vince misses when he was younger, and has become an "Ok Boomer", and the ironic thing is that resentment and unwillingness to understand how much things like streaming and various other socials and promotions mean to his performers, is actually going to be the thing that might make some wrestlers straight up quit his company.
It's almost something to laugh at, the Saudi near hostage situation where he left them to basically rot was not the breaking point for some people, but Vince telling them they can't Twitch, Cameo, Youtube etc? That's what's gonna do it. It's so stupid yet it's so appropriate because of how Vince views current wrestling mindsets and interests himself

Shareholders getting on Vince for this along with possible sponsors might be a good way to put heat on him though aside from the wrestlers doing so. It's not even been a day and it's already been a ton of backlash which is only getting worse.

I am not looking forward to seeing the stock price on Monday morning. Sorry, I just tend to hate the shareholder model in general. Oh no, I’m not even disagreeing with you at all. I was just pointing out that the shareholders, even if they agree with the notion, can’t possibly be thrilled with the way this has been handled. It’s been an absolutely terrible year for WWE on the business side of things. The stock is sitting at ~$43/ share right now. This time last year it was ~$70. That’s a precipitous drop, and it’s largely because of the sketchiness of the Saudi deal, ever-dwindling ratings, and constant PR nightmares like this. I know Vince has always managed to skate through these kinds of things in his career, but I get the feeling we’re dangerously close to the end of an era. And as others have said, how insane is it that it’s might be a video game streaming scandal that takes down the guy who survived a steroid scandal, allegedly covering up a murder, etc...

Vince knows if he wants to hoover lines and lift weights all day he can just do that, right?
Don't need to manage operations anymore mang... let your spirits soar...

stuff like this if its allowed to continue is going to be the death of WWE. When readily available Japanese brands and AEW are around as legitimate options for talent to work in while at the same time pursing other avenues to make money while not being owned by your employer it becomes more desirable to work elsewhere.

OK, somebody somebody correct me if my summary on the matter is wrong in any way...
*Vince wants the talents to stop the video game streaming and such because... he can't monetise it for the company itself, I guess? *Somewhere along the line he apparently owns their real names too? I have seen things saying this has been denied as being true, but I don't know what to believe at this point *Apparently this is getting the attention of media and politicians?

Meltzer said on his forum that the straw that broke the camel's back was Lana's Bang Energy commercials. Guess Vince was mad he didn't get any money from it. That's seems so.....insignificant to get mad over. I mean, who's Bang Energy?

He's so associated with it fans bring him cans during meet and greets.
