OK, somebody somebody correct me if my summary on the matter is wrong in any way... *Vince wants the talents to stop the video game streaming and such because... he can't monetise it for the company itself, I guess? *Somewhere along the line he apparently owns their real names too? I have seen things saying this has been denied as being true, but I don't know what to believe at this point *Apparently this is getting the attention of media and politicians? *Essentially * Some places seem to be walking the "real name" thing back * Yes. Check Batista's twitter.

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF, I know when I come on here and see a new thread gone to 17 pages, some shit has gone down. In this case, in more than one sense of the word. Not gonna lie, I don't think anyone had "Vince might have just stepped on a grenade telling WWE Superstars they can't be on Twitch, Youtube, or Cameo anymore" on Crazy 2020 Wrestling Bingo but here we are.

What's the reference here? It’s one that probably violates the politics rule to explain, but look up Andrew Yang’s Twitter.

Point One: Yes, basically, apparently this also stems from Lana getting a deal with Bang Energy that WWE doesn't get a cent of Point Two: Contended, some are saying thats not right, others have pulled up interviews and tweets saying it could be somewhat correct or some type of royalty. Point Three: Yes, it's getting a lot of attention, Vince has trended on Twitter all day. Wrestlers in the company are also speaking out negatively on this already.

Yeah, but the one where you get kicked in the balls by your friend. You know that ol' gag where you're all at a party, having a few, enjoying the night, and CECK!

Creed's gonna walk, there's no way he stays if WWE stands pat on this. No one has more tied into this bullshit than Creed does outside of Paige apparently, and he's not going to lose all of his deals and potential deals like with G4 because Vince wants to be a petty shithead.

The Lana thing is part of it, Big E had an ad for Cameo on his tights at Summerslam...the minute Vince realized they were making a lot of money from it, he was seeing none of it and it gave them revenue options that had nothing to do with Vince he got pissed. It's not just the money it's also control, the more the talent realizes there are other options the less control Vince has.

And doing something like this is actually gonna make Vince realize how much control he really doesn't have if talents threaten to walk or give their notice. Nobody is gonna feel sympathy for Vince when he's cut wrestlers during the height of the pandemic, made record setting profits, and now this. This will not end well for Vince, there are too many wrestlers tied up into these platforms for them to just be ok with Vince trying to control their lives.

Xavier's only in WWE because he wants to do fun stuff with actual BFF's Kofi and Big E. Especially with his being on the shelf a good chunk of the year, online platforms were a big way of him keeping in touch with fans and friends alike. He's also become a pretty known name not just as a wrestler, but a celebrity blerd.
In addition to that, I think he's still pursuing his PhD. If homie ever wants to leave wrestling outright, he's got a very bright future ahead of him.

Meltzer said on his forum that the straw that broke the camel's back was Lana's Bang Energy commercials. Guess Vince was mad he didn't get any money from it. I mean commercials are one thing it’s endorsing a product. It would make sense if wwe was promoted by Mtn Dew and you had Jeff Hardy shilling Mellow Yellow. I could see that as being a problem But cameo and twitch are platforms to promote yourself, to interact with fans. That’s the thing Vince sees his wrestlers as products not as people.

He also has a lot of friends in AEW and AEW would love to have someone attached to their brand, just like Cardona with the toys, they have a video game in development Just saying Vince poked the wrong hornets nest here...

Basically Vince is very old and out of touch and wants to treat everyone like it's 1987. Dude has ground up wrestlers and spit them out into garbage cans for years. The couple of guys that got one over on him he can never ever let it go.

Whether it's AEW, New Japan, even Impact Wrestling, they can succeed outside of WWE if they wanna wrestle, and they can succeed with these other avenues as well. If WWE isn't going to let them do what they want, I really see some of them leaving, especially since I can see a lot of them already HAVING reasons to want to leave...

I don’t need WWE to partner with energy drinks last time that happened we had X-PAC dressing like can of Hansen’s or all those nightmare inducing YJ Stringer add

Sorry, I just tend to hate the shareholder model in general. Oh no, I’m not even disagreeing with you at all. I was just pointing out that the shareholders, even if they agree with the notion, can’t possibly be thrilled with the way this has been handled. It’s been an absolutely terrible year for WWE on the business side of things. The stock is sitting at ~$43/ share right now. This time last year it was ~$70. That’s a precipitous drop, and it’s largely because of the sketchiness of the Saudi deal, ever-dwindling ratings, and constant PR nightmares like this. I know Vince has always managed to skate through these kinds of things in his career, but I get the feeling we’re dangerously close to the end of an era. And as others have said, how insane is it that it’s might be a video game streaming scandal that takes down the guy who survived a steroid scandal, allegedly covering up a murder, etc... Now that would be some sweet irony: That the dirty old school drugs and sex backstage culture doesn't do him in but the arguably cleaner new school video game backstage culture does.

Given the backlash this has gotten, especially since it's now reached the political world, I would think people in Stamford are scrambling to come up with something to make this go away. A can of worms is being opened that Vince does not want opened.

Vince is scum. There's no other way to put it at this point.
He's bitter about all the people who left to make a name for themselves elsewhere, now he wants to do everyone his power to ensure that he owns every single aspect of his employees' lives as a result.
