Given the backlash this has gotten, especially since it's now reached the political world, I would think people in Stamford are scrambling to come up with something to make this go away. A can of worms is being opened that Vince does not want opened. I think it's too late, Vince touched Pandora's box and now the Sky Wall has been released.

All in all, a bad end of the week in PR for people who succeeded almost exclusively on bluster alone.

Every time we think Vince is finally caught for his illegal and shitty behaviors, he weasels his way out, so don't count your chickens.
Rich bad people don't play by the same rules we do.

Will Vince get taken down for this? That remains to be seen if there will actually be actions and investigations into WWE's shitty actions
But wll Vince lose his own wrestlers over this? That's a very high possibility especially if they stand pat.

Meltzer said on his forum that the straw that broke the camel's back was Lana's Bang Energy commercials. Guess Vince was mad he didn't get any money from it. The straw is gonna break right back. Vince is gonna find out real soon how much some WWE Wrestlers do not need him to survive whether it is continuing a career in wrestling or otherwise. He is playing a very dangerous game, especially over money when they again just had a RECORD PROFIT. Never satisfied, and he finally might have pushed it too far. Dude still thinks everyone is like the old school wrestlers who were shit with money and didn't know how to invest or save, to the point where of course then they're old and broken, they depend on Vince for a check. Like, I'm sure they'll take it if they want to, but I'm 90 percent sure most of the dudes and girls like Big E and Alexa aren't gonna need WWE's money in 20 years.

Xavier's only in WWE because he wants to do fun stuff with actual BFF's Kofi and Big E. Especially with his being on the shelf a good chunk of the year, online platforms were a big way of him keeping in touch with fans and friends alike. He's also become a pretty known name not just as a wrestler, but a celebrity blerd. In addition to that, I think he's still pursuing his PhD. If homie ever wants to leave wrestling outright, he's got a very bright future ahead of him. He also has a lot of friends in AEW and AEW would love to have someone attached to their brand, just like Cardona with the toys, they have a video game in development Just saying Vince poked the wrong hornets nest here... he's been doin' that a lot lately. btw I've seen my birthyear mentioned twice in this thread and y'all need to stop using 1987 in your comparisons or you may give me a complex

This is why people root for AEW. Simply by virtue of them not being WWE.
I know AEW isn’t perfect. And I’m sure, because they are a pro wrestling company after all, that even more warts will be revelead in time. But, as of this writing, at least they aren’t WWE.

Based on what's been said, Vince had better hope is old pal is still in office after the next election, because a change in regime is almost certainly not going to end well for him.

And I’m sure, because they are a pro wrestling company after all, that even more warts will be revelead in time. But, as of this writing, at least they aren’t WWE. The Indies and the Alternatives are what you want to root for because they aren't WWE for many reasons. If someone goes to an Impact, an AEW, a New Japan (Even just the US shows right now), an NWA when their weekly PPV's attempt to be a thing, and any other Indies that are out there, you want to support them to show wrestlers that wrestling is still a big deal and you can still make a living off of it if you aren't WWE. Gallows and Anderson literally just had a successful PPV from their backyard that was DESIGNED to be terrible. The more alternatives show up and the more wrestlers show you can leave WWE and be ok, especially in the f***ing pandemic era of all things, more wrestlers are not gonna take this bullshit and bet on themselves, and as I said, if WWE stands pat on this decision, we might be seeing that happen sooner rather than later.

Makes sense. They've spent years trying to establish WWE as the brand that sells and diminish the star power of eveyone who has gotten over on their own like Rusev and Ryder so that no star is bigger than the brand. I hope no one caves in and if it leads to wrestlers i like leaving then so be it.

Man, f*** shareholders and f*** Vince. I don’t own enough WWE stock that I would consider myself a real “shareholder,” but I can sincerely say that I doubt the shareholders would endorse Vince doing something this tone deaf and triggering a massive backlash that has been picked up by actual, credible, media sources and politicians. I am not looking forward to seeing the stock price on Monday morning. Knowing majority shareholders they were probably mad that they weren't seeing a piece of the pie as well.

Newziest Newz, that ever newzed. Confirmedest confirmed to ever confirm. Even if you want to say the reporters aren't right etc, the wrestlers themselves wouldn't be as obviously pissed as they are if it wasn't true.

Doesn't Vince own like 85% of the company, and noone else except Steph has shares that can even be used as voting power?

So it might not lead to anything but Bix spoke on brief Twitter thread with, of all people, Lea Thompson, who seemed to imply she was going to try and get SAG-AFTRA to organize for them.
But if it does lead to something....hoooo boy.
EDIT: She’s apparently really active in union activities so, again, hoooo boy.

It's the old sledgehammer to crack a walnut. This company desperately needs a social media policy, to stop wrestlers from attacking fans on Twitter & the like. So what do they do? Ban anyone from using all social media outlets everywhere. Oh, and "we own your real name". Who are you, King bloody Herod?
Oh, & I love how they say it's because it's detrimental to WWE's growth. Literally anything except the diabolical product you make, eh Vince?
