Like, I understand if you don't want them to go by their stage names. That part I can at least understand. But to interfere with their personal lives and livelihood - what these independent contractors who don't get health insurance coverage do on their own time away from their job, is bullshit. I know many of them are well-off and don't *need* this, but that doesn't matter. It's the principle of it, and it's for the smaller acts who actually do live in apartments and aren't, say, Randy Orton. I hope they stand up to it and challenge it.

He has also in younger years been this way when he realises he doesn't get a cut from everything they do. The most prominent example may be the fall of King Kong Bundy from Wrestlemania main eventer to released jobber. Bundy got 1987 a commercial offer from a Dutch computer company. Since it's in Europe, Bundy assumed nobody in wwf will get to know this and he did the ad without going through wwf and them taking a share. However somebody got wind of it, according to Bundy then Vince McMahon got angry at him and soon after he was not even a midcarder anymore.
Isn't the reason SGT Slaughter left in the 80s related to him working out the GI Joe deal without Vince? I think because GI Joes are Hasbro and at the time WWF Figures were LJN

Twitching Austin Creed just mentioned he has no further info on ramifications, etc. as no one as contacted him. Comforting to know you potentially losing your livlihood outside of WWE is met with zero communication or contact Seriously dude, get the f*** outta here. WWE Exec: "Shit, the news leaked about Vince's stance on wrestlers using Twitch and Cameo, what do we do?" Vince: "Don't worry, it will be fine." Exec: "Fans aren't happy. This is really bad PR. What are we gonna do?" Vince: "It will blow over" Exec: "I don't think it will. What are we gonna do!?" Vince: "Um... Say nothing, we'll figure something out."

Imagine any other company telling you what you can and can't do at home.
Unbelievable.

Imagine any other company telling you what you can and can't do at home. Unbelievable. I mean... most places will fire you if you use social media in a awy that makes the company look bad... but very few would likely bar you from making money off a twitch channel...

So are we still at the point where we don’t know much other than they don’t want the wrestlers using their character names on third-party platforms? I assume more gets cleared up this week.

Just in case no one watched All Out tonight, Kip Sabian had a very stiff jab at WWE by doing this. Can't say they didn't earn this. Funny but after last night, AEW would be wise to not take shots at WWE for awhile considering how much of a trainwreck All Out was. The way they handled the Hardy situation was absolutely horrific.

Saying that you can't say shit on twitter that makes the company look bad is not the same as telling people "You can't use this website to play games for the internet"

I genuinely do t know why Paige switched her twitch name over to Saraya, I'm not sure WWE could even enforce copyright on her stage name given how generic that name is. I'd say it's like just giving an American girl the name Ashley but then I remember they actually did that. Because WWE spent their whole existence demanding talent be one with their character. You wanna separate them?Fine,Paige is on the right, separate them. She isnt Paige anywhere outside of WWE Shows them.

Might just be they can’t do it using WWE trademarked names.

Might just be they can’t do it using WWE trademarked names. If that was the case I don't see why their official statement would include "Notwithstanding the contractual language, it is imperative for the success of our company to protect our greatest assets and establish partnerships with third parties on a companywide basis, rather than at the individual level, which as a result will provide more value for all involved." This is not the language of one protecting trademarked stage names, in which case they would be talking about people needing to enter deals with third parties without the use of IP owned by the company, and abotu the problems with unauthorized use of company IP.

What’s really funny is that Khan in the post show presser said that AEW talent would need permission when it came to outside sponsors and partnerships. (Like being in the twitch partner program per se)

He said he would never tell people not to do anything outside of AEW and would not try to stop them." www.f4wonline.com/aew-news/aew-all-out-media-scrum-notes-tony-khan-gives-matt-hardy-update-319501youtu.be/RnAPdkTEKew?t=2729He does talk about sponsorships being something you need to talk with the company, using as example pepsi. He never says anything about twitch partnership program needing permission.
