Calling crazy Vince stories propaganda is just not something I’m going to agree with when a lot of them just come from wrestlers telling stories after they left the company. I assume people are referencing the Vince-Gronk thing showing him demonstrate the fall (which was just a cut from the WWE 24 documentary) but I don’t see WWE sending out tons of crazy old Vince stories, unless I’m forgetting/mistaken. And again, saying that you’re not going to “fall” for these stories about Vince just makes it seem that people aren’t willing to accept that he may have both good traits and bad, with the bad getting most of the press. I'm not saying it's coming out as explicit, company-fed material existing solely to make people like Vince, the word there wasn't meant to be taken that literally. It's that the effect is like propaganda. Nobody is denying that Vince has good traits, it's that him being a complicated person doesn't mean shit when he's doing so many bad things. Him being a good grandfather or an eccentric boss stops mattering in the face of things like this. A lot of wrestling fans have a way of buying into a mythology about the man that shields him; fans booing the shit out of Roman but then popping hard once Vince's music hits, even though everything they dislike about Roman came from Vince. There's a compartmentalized schism in two different Vince McMahons, when they are in fact one person. A complicated person, yes. A person with good and bad, yes. But a person whose bad reaches a depth that deserves to be criticized. I don't know how you think the sentiment comes off that the people who don't want to see the good in a man who ran a state propaganda show for the Saudis a month after they murdered an American journalist, who has cut scores of jobs while posting record profits exceeding all projections, is harbouring accused rapists and predators while ignoring those accusations entirely, and who is currently embroiled in an effort to make his wrestlers with second jobs hand those jobs over to him for his own benefit. But from this side of things, I'm seeing someone who has very much bought into the very thing spagett and I are talking about. Someone doesn't need to be the incarnation of evil to be a bad person on the whole and you don't need to concede that somebody isn't Double Hitler just because they have an endearing side to them. The propaganda is coming from inside the house. I don’t have any problem with others choosing to harp on the bad traits he has and determine for themselves that they outweigh the good. The only problem I had is telling others not to “fall for” the crazy Vince stories, or in another thread someone saying that fans should stop celebrating Halloween Havoc because Vince put WCW out of business and is exploiting their IP. It’s telling others how to think and feel and seemingly judging them if they don’t feel a certain way that doesn’t usually sit right with me.

My problem is more the hypocrisy of a number of people who complain about WWE's business practices, way they treat their employees, and don't even like the product that much, yet still continue to give WWE their money or business by either buying merch or subscribing to WWE Network. Like, it's not even watching Raw or Smackdown on TV because unless you've got a Nielsen box you're not directly giving WWE your business. Just take that step in no longer actively giving WWE your money.

Just take that step in no longer actively giving WWE your money. I haven't given WWE money since March. I feel perfectly justified in calling WWE's higher-ups a bunch of ghouls. Yeah, I dropped my Network the day of Greatest Royal Rumble; seeing a glorified tourism ad for Saudi Arabia was a step way too far for me. Haven't bought merch since that day either. Any WWE I've seen since that day has been on other peoples' dimes for like, viewing parties and shit where the only money I'm spending is on food and drinks to spend time with people I like. Even that's long dead and has been since before COVID happened, because everyone I know is just exhausted and now we can get together for AEW shows or to watch both nights of Wrestle Kingdom during daylight hours. I wish the biggest problems with WWE were still creative stagnation. I really do, because there's always bright spots and things that actually work and feel good. Even now, people praising Roman's heel turn have me interested, but with all of this around? Nah, f*** that. But also, because bad wrestling shows are only that. Bad wrestling shows. When a PPV really, really f***ing sucks, you can say "That sucked" and it doesn't need to mean anything more or have real-world ramifications. Nothing about the finish to HIAC last year existed in a plane of morality and no matter how people viewed it, you could never leave a thread about it feeling dirty. Now WWE is flagrantly covering for predators and committing wage slavery on a scale literally nobody else in the developed world is operating on.

Actually very intelligent of her to just come right out and say it on Twitter. Getting it on public record that that's what she's doing would make it very easy for her to take action if WWE does anything out of retaliation.

Well well well, here we go. Huh. I honestly didn’t think anyone would flat out say it but it makes sense it’s Paige because what’s WWE going to do? Feature her less?

This is getting interesting now. Need popcorn Trust to this be the moment WWE implements a social media policy... If WWE finally instates a social media policy and it's only to stifle complaints from within over the treatment of workers, I know it's probably going to give you an aneurysm but I'm still going to laugh at you while the ambulance carts you away, just because that'd be so 2020.

Now they're trying to circumvent people whom refuse to give dollar 1 to Vince and co. Unionize pro-wrestling!

Seth Rollins bitches about Jon Moxley joining AEW because he's trying to "take food off of his table" only to support Vince McMahon, who actually is "taking food off of the table" of all those wrestlers.
