There’s so many NFL and NBA guys on twitch and their leagues/teams don’t care at all. WWE is so bad at reading the room They also have unions and agents to represent their interests something pro wrestlers either plain don’t have (Unions) or very few actually have (an Agent. Christopher Daniels, Brock Lesnar and...that’s it?).

Taylor Wilde, who had a stint in OVW before going to TNA, pretty much says the real name stuff has been around for a while. The amount of apparent open secrets WWE has that are borderline illegal and disgusting yet are just rolled with is absolutely unbelievable. For how much WWE wants to be hip and for modern day audiences to care, their lack of mainstream appeal might be the only reason they're still f***ing alive.

I really hope this isn’t the end for KanaChanTV. Asuka’s YouTube channel is just too entertaining to end, it’d be a damn shame.

She can literally go anywhere and work and still be a big deal, so pissing her off isn't a good idea either. Sriously she's done everything there is to do for a woman in the company, there's nothing keeping her there.

LOL Vince this is his crazy, dumb, misguided way of handling the Speaking Out movement I bet. His dumbass probably thinks he can avoid controversy by having the talents off of those platforms and have WWE micromanage those said platforms. What an idiot

This might be the kick in the pants they need to actually make real movement towards unionizing, in spite of David Starr turning out to be a piece of shit. Only thing is I'm not sure how much interest there would be in other companies to truly make it a wrestlers' union instead of just a WWE union.
Either that or SAG-AFTRA finally gets off their high horses about wrestlers and accepts them as members.

I've seen some people arguing that WWE has the right to do this. But even if that's the case, why? I legitimately don't understand their cost benefit analysis here. If you're pissed about what people do on their streams, address it with them. If people want to speak their mind, they don't need Twitch to do it.

I guess this means no more Natalya and her sister half-naked dry humping each other on Youtube.

Anybody arguing that WWE has the right to do this are not only wrong but they're also indicating that they'd be ok with some horrible rules and regulations. Thankfully nobody here (not even one person) has said it's a smart move, we're better than that. To these talent though, just, what? I can't even imagine working at a place that says "hey man when you clock out you can't stream and talk to people" because that's crazy. Vince wants them to have a damn WWE logo tattooed on their forehead and shit.

Asuka's run in WWE is one of passion and not of financial necessity. She doesn't need them for employment in the slightest, and she'd be the hottest free agent in American wrestling if she wanted to stay in the US and continue wrestling here.
Though if I were her personally, I'd go back to Japan if only to be in a country where their response to the pandemic has been at least competent.

And sorta on the same topic, 2 days ago Styles revealed on Twitch that he got Covid a month ago. The fact Vince had this meeting and then Styles said that on Twitch, just letting people know that he's ok now, you can't even do that these days?
Shit's sad. This is horrible.

WHAT IN THE ABSOLUTE f*** That makes her saying they had Eddie on a permanent merch contract, and then how they reportedly reacted to her appearing on AEW feel even worse.

Vince McMahon issued an edict this past week that talent can no longer "engage with outside third parties," which would presumably include platforms like Cameo and Twitch. McMahon held a call with talent last Sunday regarding the reinvention of the product. During the call, McMahon said that WWE owns the real names of talent, not just their character names. McMahon followed up the call by sending a letter on Thursday. McMahon wrote that it was imperative that they promote and protect the brand in every conceivable way, and that talent have 30 days to stop engaging with third parties. "Some of you are engaged with outside third parties using your name and likeness in ways that are detrimental to our company," McMahon wrote. "It is imperative that these activities be terminated within the next 30 days (by Friday October 2). Continued violations will result in fines, suspension, or termination at WWE's discretion." McMahon wrote that the these actions are necessary as part of WWE's rebuilding process as they "enter the next phase of growth at WWE." -wrestlinginc.com How can WWE ''own'' the real names of talent?
