I disagree on 2018 being the worst of the 2010s, even with the botched Bullet Club split and other hiccups. I'd have to give it a lot of thought on what I'd put on the bottom, but it definitely wouldn't be 2018, even if 2019 was definitely better. 2018 only looks not as good because 2017 was probably peak NJPW for that 2010's Naito was peak over, Okada was putting out 5 star matches in his sleep, Omega was rising up the card, etc... The top 3 guys were having crazy good years and you had guys in the background like Goto having a good NEVER run, Shibata had a ton of momentum before his career ending injury, Hiromu was a maniac on the scene etc

Some big and lighter notes now that I've finished;
- Apparently they ditched the G1 theme, much to my dismay. Always made it sound epic and I missed hearing it in between bouts and ESPECIALLY during the trophy celebration. Wonder why that was
- Juice is a f***ing star and needs a big-time feud, title or not. Few guys with that much natural charisma and magnetism to go with excellent ring-work. He could make me root for my own bankruptcy
- YOSHI-HASHI put in a great tournament. You could hear the fans appreciated his growth from butt of the roster to a respectable competitor. Not that he didn't have good moments last year too but he was very consistent when most ebbed and flowed
- Piece of crap as he is, it's smart for them to turn Ospreay heel and have him play to his natural dickhead tendencies. Just as I was getting able to enjoy his work on its own merits they have to go and bring in Priestly and some heater that is both too small and slow. Admittedly not familiar with Great-O-Khan but the whole thing fell flat to me. LAMMEEEEEE
- Ibushi vs Taichi was my favorite match of the tournament and one of the funnest I've seen in the past couple years. It started off absurd, then briefly tiresome, then cool, then enthralling. Felt like pure Ibushi. Having the freedom to lay out a match like that is probably as much of why he signed as much as any push.
- Yujiro's theme broke my brain. Not that I didn't already know it was lewd but hearing it night in and night out with all those families nonchalantly sitting and not minding made me howl louder each time he came out

Not that I didn't already know it was lewd but hearing it night in and night out with all those families nonchalantly sitting and not minding made me howl louder each time he came out I agree with most of these points. YOSHI-HASHI was very good and consistent in this tournament, he gets my vote for most improved. He's always had the ability to have very good matches, but he has never really been too consistent. Although, very odd to have him lose to Douki on the Finals night. Also another participant that was a health scratch from last year, Minoru Suzuki proved he can still go at a high level despite his advancing age. I would even venture say that he has gotten better since his last G-1. Turning Ospreay heel makes sense, it would explain why he was acting so odd during the tournament, always smiling. Although it seems like they are getting behind him and this could be a pretty big push for him, I don't see that being popular around here. But it will be interesting to see him work as a heel. I loved Ibushi/Taichi as well, just the type of match that only those two could have and make work. Ibushi has been amazing for a while and I think it's time for him in the limelight. Taichi has been incredible since actually putting effort into his matches. The thing that makes Taichi so great, is he's adding workrate to already have psychology and the entertainment factors figured out. I also really like his matches with Suzuki and Jay White, loved the part where he serenaded Jay White before the match.
