I did get to see Mori play Yakuza: Like a Dragon. Hoping she returns to that series later on, because I'm a fan of the Yakuza series myself. Not Mori, but Kiara seems to be continuing her run of Yakuza 7. Pekora and Miko also played Yakuza 0 and 1's remake (and Miko played 2's remake as well). Sadly, not enough translated clips. And of course, Coco is a massive fan of the series. Her last name is pretty much a reference to Kazuma. I can get by on some parts, but alas, my grasp of Japanese just isn't enough to keep up on everything that's said for whole streams. On the Nijisanji side, Nui Sociere's also a big fan. Alas, even less subs available, and far less people translating on the chat. Same deal, I can understand here and there, but not enough for the bulk of it. A shame, Nui's really into RPGs. Neither is mine. My knowledge of the Japanese language is limited at best, unlike French and German, which for the former, I've been immersed in since the 4th grade and the latter, I spent more time studying on the side.

Today was marked by a momentous occasion with the debut of the first official collab between Hololive and Holostars, with Calli and Rikka giving us this banger of a song: Spiral Tones.
(They also played Super Bunny Man for an hour before the song's debut as well.)
I've actually been checking out the latter groups videos lately and they have some entertaining members like the aforementioned Rikka who has a great voice and is a gifted guitar player and everyone's winningest Son: Roberu who is just so adorkable.

And it's time... in a few days! Nijisanji has announced the debut of the first wave* of their NijisanjiEN branch! Just a few days away now.
*months back, they rebranded their Nijisanji India branch into Nijisanji EN, which sadly didn't work out, but this is their first wave of EN Vtubers that auditioned for NijiEN.
In general, I feel that it is just the first taste for us on a NijiEN branch. Feels like there might be at least one more wave for the first gen of their EN branch.

Here's a quick highlight of Nijisanji EN's Lazulight.

I caught some of the Nijisanji EN debuts the other night, a little on the short side but that did help cut down on the debut jitter cringe a little so I guess that works.
That said Pomu is currently in the lead as my favorite of the trio as I like her design, her perkiness and she's a fan of Tokusatsu particularly Timeranger, that alone makes her a winner in my book.

As of today all 5 Members of Hololive EN have now officially reached the million subscriber mark on Youtube with Takanashi Kiara hitting the goal this morning thus turning her final push 12 hour endurance stream into a 12 hour victory lap stream. (Personally I thought she would have made it sooner, but Youtube being butts with their shadow bans helped to delay things.) Anyways to quote the returning fans at our favorite wrestling shows: "You Deserve It!"

While she's on a short break, Calli still released a new cover: an English cover of Roki. A Vocaloid song that's been covered by a good deal of VTubers. And Mori did an English version of it. Rap and Rock and Roll:

Some sad news.
Coco Kiryu has announced her graduation from hololive. July 1 2020.
As far as people know so far, this has been in the works, other hololivers seem to already know about it

Coco's youtube account and videos will be kept up, though the membership only streams will be gone after a while.
Seems like this has been brewing for a while. Lots of speculation; early on her free chat stream was set to end on the date of her graduation stream, and this month has been littered with collabs still set to happen.
It's just a big bummer. It's speculated considering how things have happened after the damn stupid controversy, but not expected, especially so early.
It's not the end of Coco, in a way. Her self before Coco is still up and running. Talking about VTubers before their current persona is a touchy subject, and I feel I should set that up as a discussion here sooner or later.
Anyway, her pre-hololive persona has been mentioned a lot in these past few hours, and quite a lot of people already know beforehand, so I'll just start it off to set the ground rules in a way.
I don't think there's anything wrong with talking about their previous personas online, to a certain extent. For starters, don't try to refer who they are on streams. Don't. That's just bad. Some areas of discussion dissuade talking about their past, and that should be respected. Follow the rules.
Here... I'm still unsure. It's like I want it to be "some discussion is fine, but don't get weird about it here or elsewhere". Like some things you figure out elsewhere. If you know, you know, but at the very least frankly I don't wanna see vids that so often pop up on search about the apparent real people behind the avatar.
I'm still not really sure. How do you guys feel about discussion about the past identities of VTubers? It's not like this interest of VTubers is a big presence here, but I do want to set what's solid or not on this topic here.

Currently Uno collab with Marine, Fubuki, and Kanata. Meme review with Ame on Sunday, and I think Kiara's guest on HoloTalk. Still a large number of collabs for Coco to do.
Their official subreddit is pretty much under lockdown where no new threads can be made. Considering what happened way back then, it's understandable. Comments on the Coco threads keep piling up.

Talking about going out with a bang. It is sad because I have started getting into a lot of Coco's videos and lately the Reddit Shit Post reviews have been the highlight of my weekend viewing. But as they say: all good things must come to an end and she's charming and talented enough that hopefully her next endeavors (Whatever they may be) will be successful ones. As for the previous subject about the people behind the Vtubers, well it does thankfully disprove my initial conspiracy theory that's it just one guy (Presumably Yagoo In the case of HoloLive) playing all the characters themselves. For real though it's always best to respect the wishes of the individual performer, if they don't feel comfortable talking about their previous work before becoming Vtubers then yeah don't bring it up and be like that cringy smark at autograph signings that call Wrestlers by their real names or previous gimmicks.

Great-O-Khan also tweeted about Kiryu's announcement. mobile.twitter.com/Great_O_Khan/status/1402522702934536196The yakuza-like appearance, Mao color suit, hair removal, brought me back to the VTuber world that I had once left in the first place. If it weren't for Chairman Koko Kiryu, there would be absolutely no Great-O-Kahn today. -deepTL translate of tweet. Currently Uno collab with Marine, Fubuki, and Kanata. Yeah, exactly. Considering how a decent amount of people kinda relate some wrestling stuff with VTubers, I feel that it fits in a way. Not exactly the same, but there's something that resonates and amounts to don't cause trouble to the person.

There were a few signs something was going to happen... First there's this from May 31stThen there's this list: SourceI think she just wants to be the manager rather than the on-air talent. Where is anybody's guess. Also, her... "alter-ego"'s channel has already doubled its subscribers since the announcement and has been consistently been gaining new memberships as well. So I think she'll be fine.

As I recall, she mentioned that she had initially auditioned to be a manager or a backstage role in hololive, but at the time hololive had proposed she audition as a streamer instead. For most part, the last few weeks she's streaming as Coco is gonna be big.

And it's over. Very bittersweet. The weeks going forward have definitely lessened the bitter, but still a bit of a bummer nonetheless.
Extra bitter is yesterday with Nijisanji's Lulu also retiring. Unfortunately, she retired because of apparently constant cases of stalking and harassment and such.

That was quite the ride as expected, the send off was the right balance of heart and humor.
I feel our Elite Shrine Maiden summed it all up perfectly:

HERE COME A NEW CHALLENGER:
Yesterday the latest member of Hololive EN was announced: IRyS
Full debut on the weekend.
All ready I like the design and I'm assuming since she's being classified as a Vsinger as opposed to a Vtuber she will be wholly if not fully involved in the music production aspect of the business as opposed to playing video games and the like.
