Definitely don’t mind the Bears not getting Wentz. I think the guy still has potential. But there’s nothing bout the current Bears regime that makes me think they’re the ones to unlock it.

Unless you think Wentz is just broken which some people do. A 3rd and conditional 2nd round pick is worth the risk tho Colts are trying to win now and this doesn't dig deep into their assets and if Wentz can at least be 80% of what he was, they will make out good I mean, the trade is likely to end up being a third and something like pick #24 next year for, roughly, the fifteenth best starting QB in the league. Wentz’s PFF grades have ranked him as the 21st, 5th, 14th, 14th, and 31st best QB in the league (and the MVP-caliber year was due to being absurdly good in situations that aren’t stable year-to-year like performance on third down.) Which basically means that, if Wentz isn’t broken, you should expect mid-level starting QB play, with the potential to have a good outlier season on occasion. And, of course, there’s the chance that he’s just broken. I feel like it’s probably a reasonable trade for the Colts, particularly given where the rest of their team is, but even if it works out for them, I doubt they’ll be making out like bandits.

When the Colts introduce him will he fumble the helmet?

Don't rule out the Colts bringing Brissett back to be the QB2/push Wentz for the starting role/start when Wentz inevitably gets injured. Just don't expect him to get paid like he did last year.
That last option (where Wentz spends time on the shelf) is a way where Wentz can actually work out just fine and the Colts still won't have to give the Eagles that conditional 1st.

That's a steal for the Colts. Wentz had an off year during a weird season but I think he'll be more his usual self next year. The only concern is his injury history. It is the perfect situation for Wentz Welcoming fans, as the Colts fans def not Philly fans. Indoor environment. Great running game and some good enough receivers. Very good defense as well This is his best and last chance to show the MVP guy he was a few years ago The most important aspect of Carson Wentz to Indianapolis is the head coach - Frank Reich. While Wentz was under the watchful eye of Reich, who was then the Eagles' offensive coordinator, he was a legitimate MVP candidate in 2017, throwing for 33 touchdowns and 7 interceptions before he tore up his knee. Reich could be just the coach to rehabilitate Wentz's career. And as I said a few weeks back when I first suggested Wentz would find an ideal situation in Indianapolis, it's not like at age 28 he's done or washed up. He had an admittedly horrendous 2020 season, but he's been very good or pretty good in the two years since returning from injury. With Reich as his tutor, Wentz could return to his 2017 form and be the final missing piece to the Colts' Super Bowl contender. The trade is fair for both sides and a win for both franchises. Indianapolis gets their quarterback of the future - as that was really the only position holding them back in 2020 - and the Eagles get a third-round pick this year and a first-round pick in 2022 (barring a significant injury, Wentz is absolutely playing 75 percent of the season) for a player they clearly needed to move.

I still don't understand why Pederson was canned if you were just going to get rid of Wentz anyway.
Was public speaking expert Nick Sirianni so great?

Anyone else think the NFL needs a minor league again? I know NFL Europa wasn't exactly it but damn it, I loved it.

The more time goes by, the more I believe Jets are going to draft a QB and trade Darnold to someone like Pittsburgh

My gut tells me Wentz plays 8 games this season. Hence why that pick for next year has provisions on it.

For some reason this week, ESPN is pushing the narrative Philly drafting a QB at number 6

So Washington put up a website announcing they will have a brand new name in 2022.

Dolphins are reportedly talking to Aaron Jones about getting him from Green Bay since he's a UFA.
