I don’t know who’s to blame but I got an email from Roku saying it’s Universal pulling a power play for the Peacock thing
Since a lot more people use Roku than I thought (after reading the peacock related outrage), I thought this might be of interest to some people.
Side note, I know that Roku is pretty old and pretty good, but considering I’ve only heard people talk about Amazon fire and chrome cast when the streaming wars picked up, was wondering why Roku wasn’t seeming to get as much love. As they were there from pretty much the beginning.

Apparently if you have xfinity, you get access to the premium version of peacock if that helps anyone out.

I switched from Roku to Firestick and I do not care for it. One stick the audio sync is always off. No fix has worked. Both remotes eat batteries like crazy, as in replace them every week.

And in record time, Roku announces that Peacock is coming to Roku

Roku is my go-to. I have 2 TVs that are "Roku TVs", and 2 Roku boxes for the other 2 TVs in the house.

I love my roku, personally, and have no desire to try either the Amazon Fire Stick or Google Chromecast. Those two dominate everything, everywhere anyway; I see no point for me to needlessly change something that works well just to give more money and whatnot to them.

They need to get Knight Rider and the A-Team on Peacock. They're already on NBC's website, but I'd like to see them there (more exposure at least).

The only reason for me to get a FireTV thing would be if I wanted to play mobile games on my TV. I don't really, so there's that. Some do, though.

I am not sure on teh split but that as one of HBO Max's biggest failings was not being on Roku or Firestick... as combined they are 70% of the market share.

I'm enjoying Peacock so far honestly. Nice movie selection, especially as far as classic movies go. A bit too much TV stuck behind the paywall, but there's enough on the free version to make it worth it.

I’ve been watching a crapload if monk since I don’t have Amazon prime and it hasn’t been on Netflix for over 10 years Also, they have the saved by the bell movies unedited and not chopped into 4 episodes like Hulu.

Been binging Punky Brewster. Dont know if I'll ever watch the reboot, but it holds up surprisingly well.

Saw Seaquest on there and started watching right away. I was obsessed with that show as a kid. Being a massive fan of Jaws, any show starring Roy Scheider was going to get a watch from me. Didn't realize at the time how much of a Star Trek clone this show was. Even the theme song is a rip off of the TNG theme.

I have both rokus and fire tvs in my home. Here's how I generally explain this to people, roku is old reliable, it has most apps, it works as it should and it's super simple to operate like if my dad wanted to stream as he's nearing 70 I'd recommend a roku. What the Amazon fire brings is customization, like you can sideload things like kodi onto it that roku doesn't allow so it's a favorite among more advanced style cord cutters.
