I dont know why some King of the Hill fans hate Lucky so much. He's nice, humble, and truly loves Luanne, whats to hate about him?

Two main reasons.
The first was that early on, Luanne was so desperate to escape her trailer park life (even though Hank wasn't happy with her living with them) that it was a life goal of hers to not settle in life. And she married a trailer park boy.
The second was Lucky was voiced by Tom Petty, who while a great voice and greater musician, was more of an excuse to have Tom Petty on the show.

He was every negative southern stereotype rolled into one. Bucked toothed, ugly, uneducated, lazy just to name a few

They’re jealous of the fact he slipped in pee pee at the Costco and now he doesn’t have to work another day in his life because of his settlement money.

For me it's a mix of he isn't funny, he drags down Luanne's character, and he gets waaaay too much screentime.

I really enjoy Lucky. He’s one of my favorites. I’m not a Tom Petty fan, so its not just being a fan boy. I really enjoy the character.
Plus, I know a guy who looks identical to him, except Lucky would be taller if he were real. Otherwise, twins.

I was more or less indifferent to Lucky. He occasionally had a funny line, but as far as guest musicians, Chuck Mangione was way more entertaining.

I have no problem with Lucky or the pee pee he slipped on. Now Peggy Hill, with her g** d*** spa-peggy and meatballs, is a whole other story.

He sued Dale for no reason other than his principle of suing whenever the opportunity comes up.

I don't like super dislike him but he definitely marks a point where KOTH doesn't feel the same anymore. My favorite line of his is when they ask him to be a cop or help the police or something and he says "Oh like a hunted becomes the hunter situation? I can get behind that"

He was just there for me, so I didn't necessarily like him or dislike him. But I didn't like the era of the show he was in outside of a few episodes.

I don't really dislike him. He's OK.
I've been wondering, how would they deal with Lucky and Luanne in a possible comeback?
Would Lucky be in prison while Luanne took a job at an oil rig? or would they both just be passed?

I never watched this show but I can’t imagine a worse character than Peggy.

I’m sure he’s a fine character, but when does he show up? Like season nine or so? The show had been sliding in quality since around season seven when Mike Judge and Greg Daniels became less involved. So if you’re watching the show in syndication and you flip it on to see Lucky you can immediately go “oh, it’s a later episode, I think I’m gonna pass on this one.”

Lucky didn't do anything for me, but maybe if he'd been around earlier, I'd feel differently. As it is, he around when the show just was played out. It's sort of like how there's not really anything especially bad about Dil on Rugrats, but episodes with him are later on, when Rugrats was kind of long in the tooth. I never watched this show but I can’t imagine a worse character than Peggy. Eh, Cotton is much worse. It just depends on what your brand of "egotist who thinks way higher of themselves than justified" humor who you'll like more.

Lucky was like Cousin Oliver. He was just thrown in there and the dynamic changed. All that said, there are far more characters that deserve hatred and spite. I'll die on the hill (no pun intended) that Cotton Hill is one of the greatest animated characters in TV history.

Yeah, Cotton isn’t an admirable or very sympathetic character at all, but he does have funny moments IMO. He’s one of those Mike Judge characters in the vein of Beavis and Butt-Head where you’re laughing directly at them as opposed to identifying with their issue.
I never had that big a problem with Peggy. She’s supposed to be an inversion of the lunkhead husband, and in the episodes where her ego does get out of control, she usually gets herself embarrassed or bumbles up somehow.
