There is a bizarre rumor going around (on Youtube and Reddit) that John Cena will join AEW soon thanks to being convinced by Jericho. I don't buy this, but if it happens would you guys be okay with Cena joining AEW? I'd be torn. I have nothing against the guy personally but he does bring back bad memories for me of his endless superman push by the E and how boring, and stagnant that era was at times because of said booking bias (see the failed Nexus and the aborted Summer of Punk aftermath).

I put that in "cold day in hell" territory, but assuming that's true, he'd be the biggest heel since Hollywood Hogan

I’ve only ever seen this “rumor” couched in what-if terms, and I don’t think there’s anything close to credible evidence that John Cena intends to ever wrestle again, much less for AEW.
That said, it is a fun thing to speculate about. There’s an absolute 0% chance he’d ever come in for a proper run at this point in his life and career, but I could see him coming in briefly if he’s got a movie or something to promote. It’d be really fun to see him work a program as a holier than thou veteran a la Hollywood Rock against Darby Allin or someone like that.

And I really think Cena would take a hell of a stab at it. ....but yeah (NeverSayNeverInWrestling..) but I don’t buy it. And to be frank, it just doesn’t make sense. It’s not logical in any way for John to do such a thing. It’d probably be interesting but i clearly remember thinking during the Bray-Cena feud that I’d be ok with John staying away from wrestling.

He was killed off in WWE.
John Cena with decent booking behind him in a short term run?
I’m game. Give Miro his win back.

I can't really imagine what's in it for Cena, who has a real chance of making bonafide Superstardom in the next decade, to jump ship to AEW, likely torching his longterm relationship with the McMahons and WWE.
The booking scenarios are really fun to envision, but I wouldn't be getting my hopes up.

Isn't Cena hosting a show on TBS?
IF it were to happen, maybe it would just be a cross promotion to get that show more views.
Either way, I don't see Cena wrestling full time for any company since he probably wants to focus more on his acting career.

Cena making a guest appearance in AEW and getting beat down by MJF and Wardlow leading to someone like Will Hobbs or basically anyone AEW want to build as a homegrown guy would be pretty sick.

If he pops in to promote the TBS thing, fun, though I have my doubts he'd actually wrestle.

One rumor I heard is that Jericho helped him get the hosting position as part of the larger deal with AEW, make of that what you will.

I think that could be the most surreal thing to happen in wrestling in a long time. That said, it won't happen

There a source for this rumor besides someone's ass? LOL, I'm not allowed to post the source links here. I've been told not to before (for different claims) but I'm allowed to say it is a "rumor". When I did before the threads were locked, even though a couple of the rumors later proved true.

There a source for this rumor besides someone's ass? The contents of someone’s ass have been memorialized on Reddit and editorial-style YouTube videos. No credible sources, no.

Ain't gonna happen but if it did look for WWE to bend over backwards to convince everyone that Randy Orton was the biggest star in the last 15 years
