Technically none of them are real. They are characters in a fake sport. Boooo! I just got booed for a post I don't even remember making. Now I know how celebrities and politicians feel.

Undertaker was like "ok, they're not even trying anymore."

The logistics of explaining Orange Cassidy to anyone who isn't a wrestling fan are challenging.

Peter Kaasa seemed exactly like the sort of character a kid would make in a wrestling video game. You make him bulky as f*** and give him a bunch of flippy-do moves just cause.

Does the Invisible Man count?
Or the myriad of girls under 10 years old who wrestled in Japan?

Any other reasons besides....that? The whole arch. The look and idea of this character is only the beginning. Glass is guilty of: lying about being Jewish when he started using the gimmick, engaging in every stereotype possible, lying about "retiring the gimmick" and "issuing a public apology" multiple times, making his two arguing points "it's a tribute" and that he once turned down an "Easy Bake Oven spot" as if that makes him benevolent, boosting the view counts for Gr*ms T*y Sh*w and finally giving David Starr a giant platform in Judiasm-centric publications around the country by making Starr the posterboy for fighting antisemitism in wrestling, which inadvertently elevated his status. I remember him from that. It was one of those I can't believe they went there moments they had.

The logistics of explaining Orange Cassidy to anyone who isn't a wrestling fan are challenging. Really? It's simpler than most. "He's very lazy." Boom, done. I feel like DDT is the place to go for this general topic, although that's more specific moments than wrestlers. But every once in a while, I remember that yes, there really was a real wrestler named American Balloon and... yeah, he's an American balloon, sure. Oh, and... just, like. Razor Ramon Hard Gay? His name, first of all, is "Razor Ramon Hard Gay." He wasn't really gay. Neither was his tag team partner, who was named "Real Gay."

I think he’s Amish and he throws himself around like a wrecking ball and some point during the match him and his opponent churn butter. Unlike none gimmick guys. This is Daniel Garcia… um he wrestles good?

I think he’s Amish and he throws himself around like a wrecking ball and some point during the match him and his opponent churn butter. Unlike none gimmick guys. This is Daniel Garcia… um he wrestles good? Depends on the type of good wrestler. Garcia is a hard one, although the association with 2.0 gives him a solid hook ("he's this scrappy kid with potential who picks fights he can't win alongside his blowhard buddies who call him their son" is a description that gets across a lot). But a Dante Martin or Rey Mysterio who moves phenomenally, or a Kenta Kobashi who has great facial expressions and character reactions, or a Bryan Danielson who really sells the idea that he is good by doing these little character bits enhanced by his dexterity and technique? Those are easier hooks. With Orange, the trick is to explain not that he's lazy, but that he is good enough to get away with it. Being lazy isn't compelling, but being a human lightning bolt who'd rather slack off is the dream. Danhausen is also easy, he's a grandiose supervillain who wants money and thinks wrestling can make him money.

A lot of my friends are anime fans, so if I have to explain Orange to them, I say he's that shonen anime trope of the deceptively great fighter who slacks off until he's forced to give effort.

Keven Owens when he debuted on main roster was like the CAW a bully would make who can do every move and knew every smart thing to say but then just has him be in shorts and a t shirt
For the record I LOVE Owens in a large part due to this but he really is like someone cheating sometimes

Zach Gowen or Dustin Thomas. The fact they both are incredibly talented (not forgetting appearing in WWE and AEW pay per views) is f**king awesome.

When I was a kid, the "evil foreigners" really blew my mind. I would think way too deeply about "did the Soviet government & KGB really send Nikita Koloff to capture the NWA wrestling championship"?

Weird thing is, I've shown clips of both Orange and Danhausen to my non-wrestling fans and they love them. Yeah same. Hell, my girlfriend had never watched wrestling, saw Orange, and now watches Dynamite every week. She dressed like him when we went to Dynamite.
