Most shows would benefit from 12 to 13 ep seasons. To many dramas drag stuff out and pad out stuff so they can get 22 episodes a season.
Pretty much the only dramas I watch now are the ones on cable networks. Where I know they will got 12 episodes a season and not have 10 filler episodes like the broadcast network dramas.

The thing with a 12-13 episode season is really yea it becomes a tighter show but also there isn't enough episode to tell a full story if the show is having to regress in episode count and so short cuts would have to be taken.
Take DoomPatrol season 2...still awesome but they went from 15 episodes to just 9 (which was suppose to be 10) and it just felt fragmented and rushed and not as fleshed out as season 1 , the characters have more time to be fleshed out and tell individual stories with a full 22-23 episode season.
So like anything there are positives and negatives both ways.

The issue is with most US dramas if they do 22 episodes you end up with at least 4 or 5 epiodes that are just filler.
IIRC Doom Patrol Season 2 got cut short cause of the virus. It was suppose to be 15 episodes like season 1. I bet ya if Doom Patrol was on saw CW or NBC they would be forced to make 20 to 22 episodes a year.

Supergirl kinda tried to do the two mini-seasons with pre- and post-Crisis. Only they also tried to have the season long arcs to go along with it and it ended up like they tried to have their cake and eat it too. Didn't help that their take on the League of Ancients, Leviathan, ended up being a massive dropped ball in their overall threat and development. Malefic was a decent first half villain, though I'm biased because I'm a Phil LaMarr fan, but contributed in making Leviathan feel haphazardly executed.
The second half was just a giant mess in creative direction all around. The only episodes I really liked were the 100th Episode with Nr, Mxyzptlk and the one that focused on Nia Nal and her standing up for her community. The season finale was also good, though I am sad that Miss Tessmacher didn't hit a more vital organ when she shot William "duller than a worn down pencil" Dey.

That is where it all falls on the writing because from interviews with the new Flash show runner he knew the importance of balancing all the lead up to crisis and then used the fallout from crisis to explain the changes and new villans .crisis directly affected that show.
Where as on SuperGirl outside of Lex and even that didn't seem that big a change nothing about crisis really seemed to affect the overall narrative of SuperGirl it just felt disconnected.
Black Lightning had bigger sweeping changes both leading into and coming out of crisis.

Figured. Like with Flash, it sounds like the season premiere of S6 of Supergirl is really the intended season finale of S5 before COVID happened.

Hopefully we’re a small step closer to my dream of a world where not everything is superhero related.

Cat Grant is back...well, sort of. Newcomer Eliza Helm is playing a younger version of the character in flashbacks set across episodes five and six ew.com/tv/supergirl-young-cat-grant-eliza-helm/Are they building to one last Calista Flockheart appearance?

Is this all a way to give Dreamer her own series?

I would've said Behr is playing Zod, but he's going to be helping Kara. Add IIRC Zod is not only established as Superman's enemy in the Arrowverse, but he's also dead. So that isn't it.
Could be an original character, too, and he's only "famed" in-universe. Problem is that a lot of the established Kryptonian characters they could use are either dead in-universe or usually supervillains. Though I guess it's possible in the recreation of Universe-1 and Universe-38 as the Universe-Prime, Kara's dad, Zor-El, never died and is still in Argo City with Alura. After all, Tommy Merlyn and Moira Queen are alive again in this Post-Crisis universe.

Crazy outside guess, the Kryptonian Nightwing, maybe? Nicole Maines who plays Dreamer has been doing a countdown on her Instagram with her artwork to the premiere, and she's a really freaking good artist.

Yeah, her art is really good. I'm guessing we get Alex and Kelly tomorrow and, finally, Kara on Tuesday.

Yeah, both are in the series finale for Arrow. I honestly remember nothing about the Arrow finale. I remember the Green Arrow and The Canaries back door pilot fairly well but don’t remember the actual finale The finale is pretty much just a tribute to Oliver with alot of talking heads solid episode but more of an epilogue than anything else. Biggest thing about the finale outside of the funeral is what happens to Diggle.
