I know someone mentioned Johnny Jeter already in another thread, but I'll put him in there along with Nick Dinsmore Has anyone ever looked MORE like they should have been IC champion in the mid 2000s than this guy before he decided "Hey Vince, I wanna be Eric Bischoff's mentally handicapped nephew"

What we count as "make it?" some people like Ryback and MVP had much higher ceiling but they had successful careers.
Anyway Del Rio,he had the gimmick, the push, the look. But dude was boring as boring gets.Dude was basically never over in WWE

Katsuya Kitamura looked like a beast, had gotten a big push with the Young Lion Cup win, and it seemed he was gonna get a rocket strapped to him in NJPW, and it all just seemed to have disappeared in an instant.

Would you consider Van Hammer for this? He had the look, may have had the gimmick, but in terms of wrestling ability... yeah, howaboutno.

Hakushi. He wasn’t a failure or anything, but I think that if they invested some good Undertaker or Lucha Underground booking he would have been an amazing character. Hated his face turn and teaming with Barry Horowitz. Wish he stayed heel and had a 8-12 month run with the IC title.

I never thought much of him back in the 1990s, but when I went back and watched some old WCW content recently I absolutely thought he looked like someone who would be a star in the Attitude Era. Unfortunately for him, he only looked like a star. He seems like the kind of guy that Paul Heyman could've gotten over in ECW by booking around his many weaknesses.

"Exotic" Adrian Street. Amazing look and gimmick, great promo, amazing worker...just about 10 years ahead of his time.
Again, he's a legend to fans who know their wrestling history but the average fan likely knows absolutely nothing about him.

Undoubtedly he’s been mentioned already, but Adam Bomb. The gimmick was a bit goofy but it was New Generation era WWF, but he looked like an absolute badass. He wasn’t the best worker - though there were worse in that period - but when he lost to Quake in less than a minute at WMX, you knew his days were numbered.

And in territories that avoided getting press in the wrestling mags. Talk to any wrestlign fan over say 35 that grew up in the deep south and they will rave about Street. But talk to a fan the same age that grew up in saw Texas and they will barely know who he is.

I came here to say this. Awesome look and character back when in ring skills didn't matter as much. With all the gimmicks in WWE I don't know how he didn't go much further. If I was re-booking that era I'd have him feuding around the IC title level. Done right, both Bomb and Kona Crush could have been on par with Ultimate Warrior as colourful powerhouses.

Mark Andrews(The tall bodyguard Tyson Kidd had). You'd assume by height alone he'd get a push

As Wrath in WCW we saw more of that, doing that apron summersault was impressive.

Yea, even at that time I said they should had gave Ryback a one month run and put it back on Punk before the Rumble to drop it to The Rock Then he got over heavy again when he was splitting from Axel and they did nothing with it I always thought they should've had him win the Rumble and face Big Show at WM29 and get a World Heavyweight Championship run. Instead they had Del Rio vs Swagger for some reason and Ryback jobbed to Mark Henry. Oh my god yes! That was Big Shows last decent run. He deserved a championship match at Mania, Ryback was over like gangbusters, even if they went with Cena winning the Rumble, it still should have been the world title match. I’d have Ryback win (Seriously him lifting Big Show would have been a Mania moment but they gave it away free on Smackdown) I’d have Ziggler cash in MitB on Ryback at mania or the next night on raw. I’d have Ryback chase Ziggler as a face but eventually lead it to a double turn. As for Del Rio and Swagger they could have fought over the US title seriously screw those guys.

He wasn’t the best worker - though there were worse in that period - but when he lost to Quake in less than a minute at WMX, you knew his days were numbered. He got the S.D. Jones match of the card. WWF should have just scrapped that match, saved it for a Raw and did the 10 man tag with Rick Martel (almost done with WWF by that point) getting the pinfall loss in a minute. They wouldn't even need to do a intro for all the guys, just have them in ring like the WM VIII 8 man tag. Or even scrap both matches and save for Raw. I do think Adam Bomb was pretty awful though. He had chances, just never did anything with those chances. Kliq or no Kliq, he was destined to be a gimmicked job guy. Talent wise he had the shelf life of a Nailz or Giant Gonzalez or Damien Demento but wound up sticking around 2 years.
