Kennedy/Anderson only has himself to blame I'm afraid.
I was a massive mark for his when I was younger and I used to defend him like crazy.
But seeing some of his shoot interviews since has since changed my mind. The guy definitely comes across like a bit of a loudmouth and someone who has to give his opinion on everything... Ultimately this is what cost him. He should've just shut up and did his job and he probably would've still been in the company as a major player right now.
It sucks cause I think hes probably one of the best heels of all time. His feuds with Taker and Angle in TNA were amazing. As a face? It never worked. It was forced and cringey. Especially the "Asshole" stuff... Ugh.

Like others, my first thought was Billy Gunn, but I'm not sure he really had the look and the gimmick. He was big and muscly but didn't have a great look by any means, and Mr. Ass was a horrible gimmick but without it he was totally unremarkable. He's a prime example of a wrestler who was OK/competent at pretty much everything (because he did at least get Mr. Ass over) but excelled at absolutely nothing.
Paul Burchill, who was mentioned earlier, is a good one though. My friends and I had seen some of his FWA stuff, and it being around the time Lesnar was on top we all thought he would be the next big thing. And he could've been. I think I'm one of the few who never really liked the pirate gimmick though, it was funny for a few weeks but where could they go from there? It had a ceiling.

Here's who I thought he reminded me of during the Attitude Era:

JR always had a code in his commentary, like Bowling Shoe ugly for a hoss who was awful and for Billy Gunn(later Orlando Jordan) the greatest pure athlete which translated to he had no personality

Hard to believe that a guy that looked like this never got an extended run anywhere.

He has the looks of Andre the Giant, and the strength of Barry Windham. Not to mention he's a hero to a few armadillos, a kangaroo and a small herd of bison.

Is he the muscly young lion that had a bad neck injury? I feel bad for that guy He maybe the biggest What If to come from the New Japan Dojo. He seemed primed to be a major star by this time if not for his injuries that ended his career Maybe he's just feeling better, because he lost a kickboxing match last month. So, who knows what actually happened with that guy.

Kenny Dykstra. He was so protected early and was put in a feud with Flair but he just couldn't catch on after the Spirit Squad. They stopped trying. Just look at his win/loss record for 2007 that I gathered for my points rankings (up to the end of October):

Hard to believe that a guy that looked like this never got an extended run anywhere. he had a tryout quick run in late 91/early 92 in the wwf, just a few "the young upstart making waves here!" kind of matches and then disappeared and never mentioned again

I think that Bad News Brown would have been a much bigger star during the Attitude Era.

When I was a kid, I always thought the Warlord should've been a bigger deal. His look was amazing..... but then the bell rang. I remember thinking he was a dark horse in the 92 Rumble.... LOL.

Haku. He had a great run across multiple promotions. Had a great look and by all account the most legit badass there was. Yet he was only ever a midcard or even underneath guy when he could easily have been a main eventer.

How could Haku "easily" have been a main eventer? His look was fine, I wouldn't call it "great." He wasn't dripping in charisma. He couldn't talk. He was a tough guy with a legitimate athletic background, but as a star he went about as far as he deserved to go.
Maybe he could have had a run if Dusty had gotten ahold of him early and done the Meng gimmick then, since he did to the invincible-bodyguard shtick well. But by the time they got serious with him in 1994, the ship had sailed.

I got one: Saturn. Dude could wrestle, had a badass charisma to him and just looked like he could beat the shit out of you.
Might be the biggest victim of how absolutely stacked the roster was when he got to the WWE, because he strikes me as someone that Vince could have done something with
