Someone's going to be hanged and choked out over the top rope by that chain. You can count on it

I could see them doing that as the finish or something, Cody being knocked out. I see it happening to Brodie I would if it wasn't for the title. I don't feel like Cody wins it back, but I do think he's probably going to bust Brodie open really hard to at least get a measure of payback.

I can see the match not ending up clean like DO, Brandi and NN will definitely interfere.

f***ing why? Why is this gimmick still a thing, literally nobody under 50 has ever seen a good one. I brought this up in the shittiest gimmick matches thread on the (W)rest and appearantly SOMEONE in the mythical dawn age of wrestling has had a good one, but I'm not sure I believe the people who say so. And yet I'm sure a certain aging Tennis Player from that demo/era will still shit all over it.

Hard disagree. There's been some great dog collar matches over the years. Aries vs. Jacobs stands out as a personal favourite.

It feels way too soon to me? I'm sure it'll just lead to something for Full Gear but it does kind of seem like this story's skipped a few steps.
Though I kind of feel like what's going to happen is Colt accidentally costs Brodie the match leading to them at Full Gear while Shocking Debut #38 attacks Cody in a week or two to set up something with him for the belt.

It's not impossible, though they could have Brodie win if Cody at least gets some measure of revenge on him, like if Brodie's the one who ends up blading in a big way, not Cody, but still bullshits Cody out of the win by choking him out with the chain or something like that. Whoever loses, I imagine they're going to protect them to an extent.

I'm generally not a fan of any match that involves dog collars or wrestlers tied together with ropes though there are exceptions.
I can't f***ing wait for this match though.

Agreed, I friggin' love a good dog collar match; few gimmicks encapsulate "blood feud" better when you've got the right performers in one. Roddy Piper vs. Greg Valentine, CM Punk vs. Raven, always thought TNA should've done one with James Storm against Bobby Roode after Roode's heel turn and title run.

I love that JR put over the match on commentary by saying that in his long, long career, he'd only called a small number of dog collar matches, that the match type is not unheard of, but still a fairly exotic match owing to its brutality.
