Fans shouldn't enjoy a corporate raider's exploitation of a 20 year old IP of a company he helped run out of business, putting 100s of people out of work. Especially if that IP is being used on a show anyone objective knows is on cable only to hurt another competitor. Fans will enjoy it because they love the fruit and ignore the poisonous tree. Vince McMahon didn't run WCW out of business. Come on. WCW was mismanaged and Turner didn't want wrestling anymore. Vince was the final nail in the coffin, but that place was always going to die. Also - Vince has employed and done more for FAR more people than the "100s" you mention there. I agree some of their practices are predatory (and that's an issue with the whole industry), but getting mad at them using Halloween Havoc is very, very low on the list of things to be mad about. Finally, of course NXT is there as counterprogramming against AEW. What do you expect them to do? They're running a business. Hey I realize, if Velveteen Dream, Saudi Arabia and Superfly Snuka stuff isnt enough for people, I'm sure bitching about him using IP he has spent 30 years was saying was garbage, and putting it on a show that exists just to hurt competitors, isn't going to move the goalposts. Complaining to WWE fans about McMahon's underhanded business practies is like spitting im the ocean.

Complaining to WWE fans about McMahon's underhanded business practies is like spitting im the ocean. It feels like we're not going to agree here, but I need to say that I think you're comparing apples and oranges. Twenty-plus years ago, WWE bought WCW, which was a mismanaged company on death's door once Turner gave up on wrestling. I don't think it's an underhanded business tactic to use Halloween Havoc, it's BUSINESS. They're not just going to let AEW show up and immediately take 1 million plus viewers, and they're within their rights to use the IP they purchased from a poorly managed company to try and capture mindshare from the competition. I say this as somebody that prefers AEW to WWE. Of course it's meant to hurt competitors, they're COMPETITORS. Covering up a murder, taking blood money and ignoring what appear to be legitimate accusations of grooming are different than using IP from an above the board purchase to try and draw in fans of AEW who may also have an affinity to some old school WCW branding. I'm with you that WWE sucks in many, many ways, but there's literally nothing wrong with this one.

Arguing petty reasons and the back and forth really shouldn't be in this thread
Take that somewhere else or start another thread because it isn't adding to the discussion here

This is slowly starting to become like WWE where threads are just ughh to look at. If a person complains and you don't like the thread, stay out of it. It is real simple. You don't have to defend everything AEW nor should you." - You on October 1st in a Miro/Kip thread.

That Miro/Kip thread was made in criticism of them having Mitchell so people were unnecessarily going back and forth for some inconsequential shit. This is a thread that brought up the announcement of NXT bringing back Halloween Havoc and keep arguing the same points by talking about Velveteen Dream, Saudi Arabia, and taking the thread in a direction that it shouldn't be in Don't call me out. Everything I said was calm and in a discussion manner

Anyway, back on topic. It's going to be great to see this resurrected.
Agree with the fancy dress match, how about a trick or treat match? Probably up a pole.

Vic Joseph needs to open a door in a vampire costume. I know it'd probably be weird to show kids trick or treating at this very moment, but it neeeeeds to happen

Chamber of horrors cage match or no deal Raw and Smackdown have the ThunderDome; why not bring the namesake cage match to NXT? We also need a skit of Michael Cole turning into a donkey to scare a bunch of kids, aka Schiavone turning into a rhino

I'll say this much, I expected them to do this on October 14th to counter-program the Dynamite 1-year. Kudos NXT for not being scummy. Here's to a spooky/fun show!

This could be a lot of fun.
Interested to see what sort of matches they make, and the stories going in, but a healthy dose of wacky comedy fun with costumes and gimmicks will do me nicely.

They need to just go balls to the wall with this one. Like early and mid WCW silliness. Just go dumb lol. If its Halloween Havoc then dammit make it feel as wacky as Halloween truly is. Like mid-90s sitcom Halloween special wacky.
As for them and the brand, I'm cool with em having the brand. Business is business, I'm just glad it's back. It's one of my favorite classic ppv themes.
