Rise and Fall of Dixie Carter? The rise and fall of TNA, with a nice epilogue about Impact Wrestling rising from the ashes to become a pretty good show, would be interesting I guess.

Rise and Fall of Dixie Carter? The rise and fall of TNA, with a nice epilogue about Impact Wrestling rising from the ashes to become a pretty good show, would be interesting I guess. Heck back in the TNA deathwatch days it seemed every thread had at least a post or two salivating about WWE’s inevitable Stumble and Fall of TNA Documentary. I’d love for Dark Side to beat them to the punch. It’s a story ripe for picking and Dark Side is a perfect outlet for it. Of course it would be tempting to do a whole season on it, but realistically I could see it being a strong three parter that could appeal to some less hardcore fans and not get too far into the nitty gritty.

Could they do one on just 2000 WCW in general? They could do a whole spin-off series on WCW.

Someone whose "drive thru" we cannot directly call attention to has implied that ULTIMATE WARRIOR might be a topic. That would be interesting. Once all the f***ed up shit he’s said gets back into the mainstream media, WWE is gonna have to some tap dancing on that Warrior Award. It hasn't really stopped them yet (or at least not with anyone they stopped acknowledging before the DS series). Savage is still honored despite how he was with Liz coming out, for instance.

Would it fill one hour though? (you could do Sid stories beforehand, outside of the scissor fight most would be borderline lighthearted before the mood whiplash at the end. Maybe Sid in general WOULD be better?) No please no, re: ECW. Between all the other gadzillion documentaries and such, what's left?

Between the WWE's monster-sized doc and the less hagiographic Forever Hardcore, all the stories have already been told.

Between the WWE's monster-sized doc and the less hagiographic Forever Hardcore, all the stories have already been told. The only one that hasn't been told until recently was the ECW on TNN story. And the Between the Sheets podcast just did an amazing five-part-with-a-sixth-to-come podcast series on it. Maybe that could be condensed and done? Otherwise, the podcast is great and I too am burnt out on ECW documentaries, mostly because the ones that are out are good.

Seriously though, a Jerry Lawler episode would have TONS to unpack, but most of the people who know him are either dead or in WWE, though I suppose you could get Jim Ross and Bill Dundee.

Still dont know why XPW hasnt been done. It's got to be the sleaziest, most corrupt promotion to reach that many eyes. From being ran by a guy who was tied up in some awful, disgusting porn who eventually had one his talents thumbs cut off to the Heatwave incident, the Grimes fall and countless other stories. Seems like a no brainer.
I don't know if it would be considered "Dark" enough but I would love to see a mini-series on the state of pro wrestling post ECW and WCW collapse. Something covering all the hopeful startups like MECW, TCW, XWF, WWA, MLW and 3PW. I've always been so intrigued by that time in wrestling. I guess they could end it with the beginning of TNA.

I feel like an episode about XPW would be as crazy as Tiger King, but with people who are somehow even less likable.

It's scary to say "the Benoit murders and Owen's death are more family friendly tales than this" but....... well, I just typed that, so there we are??

Maybe some of the sleazier indies can be compiled. IWA-MS for starters.

Literally all I know of Grizzly Smith is that he is Jake Roberts dad and I've seen Beyond The Mat. Looking forward to hearing his story, especially from Jakes point of view.
