Ok, Atlanta what exactly is the endgame here? Because they just paid Bogdan 18 mil a year, Gallo 20+ mil a year, and Trae is getting paid in 2 off-seasons and that comes in Collins' RFA year. Are they planning on dealing Collins or just being a high payroll team again?

Are they planning on dealing Collins or just being a high payroll team again? Short term success which is going to cost them in the long run Goal is to get into the playoffs this year and sustain some type of success until they have to pay Trae Young in 2 seasons. Giving Gallo $20 mill for 3 years isn't bad in theory. However, Capela is also on the books for 3 more seasons and you have to pay Collins as well. Giving Bodan that four year is a head scratcher especially with that 15% trade kicker The problem is, they are going to hit the tax bracket. So, before you even got to pay Trae the max, you're going be crying broke by the time his time comes. If i'm Trae Young i'm putting it in the back of their heads they better not get cheap in 2 seasons when you have to pay me and build a championship team around me. IMO, they should have saved that money they used on Bogdan for a player like Oladipo. They could easily traded that 6 pick and a few players for him

So Milwaukee, who really needed a shooter, loses on Bogdan and really doesn't replace him. And the team that probably needed him the least backs up the Brinks truck. FA craziness indeed.

Kings bring back their other son from the famous DMC draft, HASSAN WHITESIDE COMES HOME!!!
—
On a minimum deal. Wow, why is Hassan’s value so low? Is he just decent counting stays inside a horrible IQ and bad teammate or something?

Is he just decent counting stays inside a horrible IQ and bad teammate or something? Hassan is a bench guy now who you have to limit to not do things stupidly ala JaVale McGee. The way he left Miami too wasn't all the best Besides that, the market for backup centers is deep and they not paying for anyone. Dwight Howard signed for the vet minimum again despite having a good season in L.A. and publicly saying he don't want to sign for cheap anymore

Whiteside is gonna split with Holmes. He's kinda like Melo these days in that he does what he does (scores, rebounds, defends the rim) but he has a bit of an attitude about his role, he's a throwback center in that he's very limited defensively to the paint, and he doesn't pass the ball back out of the paint much. If he were more willing to change his game like a B-Lo or someone, he'd probably have been scooped up from contenders who need help in the paint like Boston or Toronto who signed TT and Baynes respectively.

Boston got something nice in their back pocket for this season
Gordon Hayward goes to Charlotte in a sign and trade officially. Boston sends over 2 2nd round picks.
Boston gets a $28 mill trade exception. The largest in NBA history. With their stockpile of picks, they can use that exception to acquire a player without sending salary back

Kings sign Glen Robinson III.
I’ll take Hassan, Kaminsky, and Robinson on one year minimum deals over Corey Joseph, Trevor Ariza, and Dewayne Dedmon multi-year overpays. It’s nice to (seemingly) have a competent GM.

Evan Turner is going to be an assistant coach for Boston
Still only 32, seems weird he would end his career now if he does so, but he has stacked up some decent money

LeBron signs two year deal with Lakers for $85 mill
Good security for AD in that LeBron won’t just up and leave anytime soon
