Rick Martel blinding Jake Roberts with his Arrogance cologne is one of the more memorable storylines of that era. I think it was very well done with the creepy contacts they gave Jake and he does a masterful job of selling. However, it has always bothered me that he was the only one that was blinded by the spray. Martel sprayed many other people throughout that time and none of them had any long lasting effects. And I'm not just talking about house shows. Martel had televised matches where he sprayed Dusty Rhodes, Tito Santana (multiple times), Hercules, and perhaps others and they never got injured. After Martel came back in late 1991, he was spraying people in the eyes all the time and usually they would recover before the segment ended - though you could at least argue that after the Jake incident maybe he had a new diluted formula as ordered by Jack Tunney. Why did only Jake get blinded? Does he have an eye condition we aren't aware of? Is he a wimp? Did some of the velvet carpeting from the Brother Love Show set get in his eyes and make it worse? And while we're talking about this era, what about Jack Tunney? Make fun of a man's mom on TV?: Indefinite suspension! Have a three-man team that attacks their rivals in the ring during a match?: Banishment of one member and permanent probation! Deliberately spray someone in the eyes with a chemical substance that severely injures a man and nearly leaves him permanently blind? No punishment! Heenan was right - this dude is on-the-take. What are some plot holes and inconsistencies that bother you or that you find amusing? I wish we would have gotten a backstage segment of Ax, Smash and Crush delegating which member would permanently leave.

The Giant fell off the f***ing roof of the building. Hogan should have been arrested for murder

Miz and Truth attack people. Entire roster is scared. HHH gets no confidence vote.
Johnny L is a tyrannical heel boss within like 10 min of taking over. *crickets*

Dino Bravo beats the shit out of Paul Roma. The Rockers come out for their match. Roma somehow thinks the Rockers attacked him. Hercules comes out and sides with Roma. Hercules somehow didn't see what happened, no one told him what happened before he went out and then Hercules and Roma never bothered to watch tape of what happened. Hercules and Roma turn heel. Dino Bravo gets no comeuppance at all. They mess with Dino and they would have had to deal with Earthquake and he was putting people in the hospital nightly. Why was Tunney allowing post contest deliberate injury anyway? Quake should have been arrested attacking Hogan as he did. It could be attempted murder as there was no telling what would happen to Hogan under his girth. At least President Monsoon fined Yokozuna and Mabel for injurying Undertaker after the contested match ended.

Like others have said, Ortons punt.
How does it put Edge out of action for months and yet Shawn Michaels was just mildly inconvincened by it? That annoyed me.

Wrestling referees.
Shouldn't they be knocked out for hours when someone so much as bumps into them?

Randy Orton's punt has gone from a death move that can put people on the shelf for months, to simply an alternate finisher to the RKO, and back again pretty much entirely based on the whims of whatever story he's in. This year alone Edge got written off TV after taking one, while Drew McIntyre took three in one night and is still competing on a weekly basis. Well it could be explained that since Edge didn't wrestle in 10 years because of a bad neck(and concussion prone) that Orton's punt put him further at risk.

The Pillman xxx files stuff. We had seen Melanie in a kayfabe angle a year before, and now we're supposed to ignore that while he's with Terri? That was made weirder by the fact that once Pillman died, they interviewed Melanie the next night on RAW. For more laps of continuity, at the 1993 Royal Rumble, Yokozuna at 505 pounds, could not be thrown out by 5 guys ganging up on him. Three years later, at close to 700 pounds, Shawn Michaels does it singlehandedly along with a 400 pound plus Vader. Are we suppose to believe The Heartbreak Kid has superhuman strength. Also, the whole Kane/Lita/Snitsky/Matt Hardy/Edge mega angle. I'd explain it, but I'd get too dizzy doing so.

Speaking on Tunney, he wouldn't even pass an executive order on his own to reinstate Randy Savage, after Savage got bitten by Jake Robert's cobra. Instead, the fans had to call the hotline and pay money to vote on the decision to allow Macho Man back in the ring.

Hogan gets splashed multiple times by Earthquake and is almost put out of commission for several months.
Some jobber also gets splashed multiple times by Earthquake, and is back wrestling on TV a week or two later.

Sometimes real-life relationships are acknowledged then completely forgotten and we're supposed to not notice.
Angel Garza was shown proposing to his girlfriend on NXT then a few weeks later he's on the main roster flirting with anyone with a pulse and no one points it out.
Blade and Allie's marriage I thought wasn't supposed to be kayfabe but then they had Eddie Kingston allude to it in a promo so now it just makes absolutely no sense that Allie was pursuing QT Marshall for months all the while her husband was apparently cool with it.

I’ve never understood how after a heel turns babyface, the babyface who just feuded with him is now teaming with him. Like you two were just beating the hell out of each other a week or two ago, how is that so easily forgotten?

Tunney's inconsistency actually made him more believable as the chief official of a sports organisation.

On the same team also featured Jake Roberts, who while hasn't feuded with Savage yet, did ddt Ricky Steamboat onto the concrete floor a year and a half earlier. Another one: late 2005:Triple H feuds with Ric Flair, including beating him with a sledgehammer late 2006/early 2007: Triple H(along with Shawn Michaels) vowed revenge on Rated-RKO for beating him into a bloody pulp as if he would never do such a thing.

So really all HBK did was use the leverage advantage and element of surprise to eliminate them. It's not like he just lifted them both up over his head and dumped them over the top rope.
