So i was able to grab a Series S from Microsoft's store listing on a whim and this thing is both impressive and concerning when it comes to its longevity. It actually ran much better when I dropped the in console resolution from 4K to 1080P so that is a concern as developers will always push for more.
Just weird as they promoted it as a 4K device and it's in essence 1080p and that is fine but it concerns me that devs will essentially want to stop having to maintain multiple spec based ports. It's an extremely awesome console combined with Gamepass especially with an attached USB drive to swap back and forth for games that support the upscaling but I am just confused as to what it is I guess.

So tempted to pick up the series s in a few weeks when I have the chance. PS5 is my main console so 300 bucks for what would basically be my side console seems like a great deal. Especially with Gamepass and the ability to actually purchase og and 360 games. So many games in the back catalogue that I'd happily buy

Walmart has the Series S in stock at the moment, seems to have flown under the radar since it's been there for a little bit. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for getting a PS5 in an hour when they typically update those, but if it's still available at that point and the PS5 doesn't work out then I might take the Series S as a consolation prize. Would kind of suck not being able to play my physical 360 games, but I have enough digital ones that it'd still be worth it, to say nothing of all the stuff on the One that I never got to play due to not ever getting around to getting it.
After having a chat with the guys in my local Game store now it's open again., I think I'll have to do the All Access thing if I want an X. So I go to their website - only S version available, guess I'll check every day.
To afford it I'll have to bin a few things, Starting with WWE Network, and definitely including Disney +.
I have gamepass but always preordered the deluxe edition so I’ll be playing the show in about 20 mins. I figure it won’t be on gamepass forever, so might as well get it now
Honestly, with how much of a push Microsoft has on Game Pass right now, it wouldn’t shock me if they cut a huge deal with MLB to have The Show be an annual Day 1 cornerstone game for Game Pass. You know Microsoft must desperately want a AAA game with an annual release cycle on there, and the rumours of Madden or FIFA seem like a pipe dream, but The Show feels very attainable.

Well, since it looks like it'll be a bit before I can get a PS5, I ended up picking up a Series S. Once it gets in I'm going to need to figure what to actually do with it; probably going to end up mostly going off Game Pass for a bit and gradually build a library around it, though also have some digital 360 games I can carry over and I'll probably end up re-buying Red Dead Redemption 1 and Grand Theft Auto 4 for it.
