Interesting. I think there’s a personal preservation aspect to this where it’s like... Either he waits in the US for months before a visa goes through and any other company can pay him to work (apparently he did AEW and Impact for free), he signs with another company, goes home and then is locked out of the US for the indefinite future because of COVID, or he signs with WWE, does NXT UK and can at least get a steady paycheck for a year or two.

There's a fwe things they could do to him... NXT proper... NXT UK... I mean if they think good enough to do it they could try and just make him a member of Seth's group. (I doubt they'll do that last one right away though)

In the aspect of a Visa, I can’t really blame him for signing with WWE. It helps him at least have some security going forward and he can work NXT UK and make money and not have to worry about his future.
As a fan...well, I’m bummed. Like, I have no confidence they’ll know what to do with him since better talent have been treated worse by the company in this point. Which is sad because it used to be completely different at one time.
So yeah, good for him. But I’m hoping for the best and expecting the worst as a viewer.

A great signing and I have faith they'll use him we'll bring one of Seth's students.
I don't think AEW would do anything with him.

Goddamn it. Well, hopefully the pay is good. And who knows, maybe only one of his knees will get ground to dust from endless cardio drills instead of both.

I think the ceiling WWE will use him is as a fall guy for Seth,or he will be a NA Title guy for NXT. either way , he gets a visa and money,so good for the guy whatever happens to him.

Yeah, as an AEW fan who liked his three matches there...I struggle to think of what he would even be doing in AEW.
If he's going to have an uneventful career of waiting and hoping that he hits it big, might as well do it where everything else is a better deal. Especially if WWE is really his only choice due to the visa situation.

Hope he enjoys his time on 205 Live and later on when he's in a wacky 24/7 title skit.

Well, it was nice seeing Ben Carter while I did... maybe I'll see him in five years when WWE inevitably gets bored of him like everyone else.

DAMN IT BEN Honestly, watching him on Dark and Late night Dynamite, my mind was blown that WWE hadn’t signed this kid. He. Has. Everything. Hope he’s getting paid right and they handle him well cause the cat has star written all over him.

A great signing and I have faith they'll use him we'll bring one of Seth's students. I don't think AEW would do anything with him. AEW does things with people who get over. Ben Carter got over. He had a banger with both Johnson and Scorpio in the same night and it got people talking Carter could have been a great midcard talent with how young he is working his way up, could have found a tag team. I hope WWE uses him because he's damn talented, but I don't see the "AEW wouldn't have done anything with him" aspect. If something is getting over in AEW, they make time for it, John Silver's a prime example.

Remember people telling Punk to enjoy Velocity at ROH shows?...good times Yeah if he signed with AEW no doubt he'd be stuck on Dark for who knows how long Cause if we know something about AEW, it's that they hold talent down and don't push guys who get over like WWE's stigma has been for years Like... what? I get Ben is young and maybe he wouldn't have been a feature player straight away, but they thrust him into a prime position on Late Night Dynamite WITHOUT a contract against Sky... and he trended. I don't think AEW would have just... not done anything with Carter if he signed. Hobbs signed and he immediately made it to the show, and would have had a huge tag match (And still got a big match with Cage). So I don't get this "AEW would have absolutely just not used him" when they have... never done this before.

I have absolutely no confidence in WWE using him well, but I can't really see AEW doing so either so not terribly broken up about it. At least this is probably what's best for him.

Some of you really with the AEW can't do nothing wrong None of what I said even amounted to that and you know it. Why do you have the notion that he wouldn't have been used in AEW when he was being used in AEW without a contract is weird. AEW uses a ton of young talent on both TV and DARK. When they sign, they're especially used on TV more and more, and have been. I just don't understand how you can see the people AEW has signed like Will Hobbs and began to use in programs and on TV, and act like they wouldn't make room for a prodigy like Carter here and there and give him great matches. I'm not even saying he couldn't do well in WWE, and if it's best for his Visa issue, then go right ahead. I'm just confused as to why he just wouldn't succeed in AEW, wouldn't be used, and the questioning of that notion is a cheap shot saying "AEW can't do anything wrong". That's pretty cheap.

The upside for Carter is, he's 22. So hopefully even if this is a flop, he could get out of the company after making some money at say 25 and still be in great shape.
