The upside for Carter is, he's 22. So hopefully even if this is a flop, he could get out of the company after making some money at say 25 and still be in great shape. He's how old?! Lee Johnson, the dude he had the banger with on DARK, is like 23 If that isn't wild enough for you, AEW currently has had two girls wrestle for them that are 19 years old, Elayna Black and Kenzie Paige.

Sorry for my last post I've just seen a lot of negativity about Ben Carter mainly on Twitter That he signed with WWE? I mean especially if it's for his Visa Issue, I have no problem. I just would like him to be used, even if I doubt it with WWE's booking I wanted to see him have more bangers in AEW but there's always the future, and AEW's really good at talent scouting, so I'm sure others will sign that will be just as good.

I've seen some people saying he's dead to them for signing with WWE I understand being worried about him in WWE but I think he has a decent chance in NXT UK or NXT & helps that he's one of Seth's trainees

A great signing and I have faith they'll use him we'll bring one of Seth's students. I don't think AEW would do anything with him. AEW does things with people who get over. Ben Carter got over. He had a banger with both Johnson and Scorpio in the same night and it got people talking Carter could have been a great midcard talent with how young he is working his way up, could have found a tag team. I hope WWE uses him because he's damn talented, but I don't see the "AEW wouldn't have done anything with him" aspect. If something is getting over in AEW, they make time for it, John Silver's a prime example. Maybe they would, maybe they wouldn't. I guess we'll never know now but AEW don't tend to push people I like haha. Jungle Boy should be main eventing by now imo, but he's still stuck in that dreadful (albeit over) group.

I get it but Jungle Boy is like 23... he should rightly have a slower build to a main event status. Win the tag belts at least once before doing so maybe even the TNT belt as well. He has A LOT of time. No need to rush him to the main right now when he's so young but he's been getting his moments and may get another this week vs Wardlow.

I have absolutely no confidence in WWE using him well, but I can't really see AEW doing so either so not terribly broken up about it. At least this is probably what's best for him. See, with aew I'd at least have faith dude would actually get to wrestle on a regular basis. My problem with wwe and Carter is I can see him sitting in their toy shelf collecting dust. Sounds pessimistic, but I have zero faith in WWE actually utilizing talent. That said, good for him. Dude will get a decent check out of this at least. Just hope they don't whittle away his love for wrestling like the company seems to have done for so many others. As someone who has stopped watching wwe all together and primarily watches aew now, I have to admit how disheartening this is for me.

Well, the good news is he already had COVID so he won't catch it from WWE's negligence.

Honestly, not shocking. Hope they are paying him well, and that the aegis of Seth protects him from some of their heftier bullshit.

Well, the good news is he already had COVID so he won't catch it from WWE's negligence. In fact he was the one that spread it to AEW. He was a double agent all along.

In the aspect of a Visa, I can’t really blame him for signing with WWE. It helps him at least have some security going forward and he can work NXT UK and make money and not have to worry about his future. As a fan...well, I’m bummed. Like, I have no confidence they’ll know what to do with him since better talent have been treated worse by the company in this point. Which is sad because it used to be completely different at one time. So yeah, good for him. But I’m hoping for the best and expecting the worst as a viewer. The upside for Carter is, he's 22. So hopefully even if this is a flop, he could get out of the company after making some money at say 25 and still be in great shape. Yeah, true. That’s better than signing with a lot of cred and entertaining matches/moments and in a few years people thinking you’re a “dime a dozen” or whatever.

Hope he enjoys his time on 205 Live and later on when he's in a wacky 24/7 title skit. Remember people telling Punk to enjoy Velocity at ROH shows?...good times CM Punk was one of the hottest indy wrestlers ever at the time he signed with WWE. Ben Carter is a kid with a ton of athletic ability and upside, but isn't even remotely close to the same kind of star Punk was when he signed. Ben's also a pretty small dude and a practical unknown on the mic, which doesn't help his case. Not to mention the talent economy in WWE in 2005 is like night and day compared to WWE in 2020. This was the best financial move for him, especially given his status in the US. But I can't blame people at all who think he's going to end up in 205 Purgatory. If anything, he's going to be a Performance Center guy for quite some time since he is so raw.

Hard to blame the guy given the need for security right now and the visa issues, but yeah, sucks to hear since I was looking forward to seeing him in other promotions.
It's definitely interesting how it feels like the general vibe people have with the wrestling scene today, at least among male wrestlers, is that WWE is feeling more like where people go when they're older, well established, and looking to check the last few things off their career checklist/get the highest potential pay day, but when younger people sign it seems to generate more of a sense of dread or disappointment.
Can't say I have much hope he'll be used to his potential, but it isn't impossible, either. He's obviously still young enough that he'll have a world of options open to him next time he's looking for a new contract.
