Honestly I didn't realized how much I was going to miss these three until tonight.
It's been over a year since all 3 were together in the ring together and this was their last match together for who knows how long. That promo tonight was icing on the cake on one of the best stables in WWE history.
I'll admit I didn't like the stable initially, when they changed it from angry Woods convincing Big E/Kofi to turn heel to a bunch of Carolina Blue wearing gospel faces, I absolutely despised the gimmick.
Then one day Woods did twin magic on Swinging Cats and I was hooked. It felt like the most natural heel turn in WWE in years at that point and they were over as hell from 2015 til the face turn in 2016. I'll admit I hated their face turn but then when they got moved to SD, they randomly became 100x more interesting. I was more excited to see their Hell in a Cell with Usos than any other match on the card and boy did it deliver!
That entire feud was probably the best tag team feud in all of the 2010s and I would argue with anyone regarding that. The handshake after the match where Usos turned face for having a great match and then them teaming together to take on Bludgeon Brothers made them equal to the TLC trio in my eyes.
Then of course magic happened: KofiMania!
Thank you for six years New Day, I'm going to miss you!

Found this thread about their greatest moments. They've done so much these years. Just scroll through it.

I still don’t think this decision does much for them, it feels like they’re afraid Big E is going to come off weaker in this solo push unless the other two members aren’t ringside- nevermind they can always have Kofi and Woods supporting him and, well, not cheating.

I cannot deny their greatness and they had their fair share of moments with me. But it’s been a long while since I’ve enjoyed them, years at this point, pretty much since a large part of their gimmick became “LOL FOOD IS FUNNY.” Maybe some legit time apart will make their next reunion all the better. Though Kofi and Xavier are probably going to continue to play New Day, just without Big E so that last point is kind of invalid.
Anyway... All time gear stable, but it’s time for a break

I got tired of them after they turned face again in 2016. However their heel run was amazing and they were the best thing on TV at that point.
Kofi winning the WWE Championship was one of the greatest moments of the last decade.

If I had any kind of video editing talent, I would so do a New Day-themed video set to this (which the thread title reminded me of)...

They'll be reunited within a month of WWE starting touring again. They'll need attractions to bring people into arenas and New Day together again would do it (and it would sell a bunch of merch).

Honestly I was never a fan of them. Always found them way too childish, loud and "kiddy friendly" for my taste.
But their HIAC match against the Usos was great.

In an era where tag teams are so poorly handled by WWE, they put together a hall of fame run. It's incredibly impressive.

What helps is that Big E, Kofi, and Xavier were all genuinely likable inside and outside the ring. They got themselves over in a way that's usually not kosher in WWEland and they were allowed to roll with it instead of being broken up to middling results years ago.
They were one of the few things that got me to watch WWE even when I started despising the product and company as a whole. I'll miss them.

Apparently Meltzer this week said this breakup was due to get Big E out of this "comedic New Day character" and be more serious and have a big single's push. He also said that Big E, Jey Uso and Bryan will be the main faces while Reigns, Rollins, Lars and Corbin will be the lead heels. Otis and Owens will also be babyface acts, just not the lead ones like the previously named.
I don't have WON so I can't confirm it but nah, I don't approve of any wrestling being someone they don't wanna be especially Big E who's definitely not that guy. He's said it multiple times. There's ways to give him a belt and having him have a legit single's run without breaking up the group and changing his character. At that point you gotta look at if you're wanting "Big E" or if you're just looking for someone else and he fits the build. I'll be glad that he'll win a title but you don't need to change who he is as a person if he doesn't want it.

Honestly I don't expect this to last if only because I've always thought Big E needs Kofi and Xavier more than they need him, and it's not like anyone cared the last time they pushed Big E as serious.

We’ll have to wait and see what happens there, I guess (I KNOW, I know). It most likely wouldn’t be an overnight change, it may not be any change at all, but you’d have to keep an eye on specific events that could set things off.

There’s a happy medium to be had between idiot New Day Big E and SRS Early Big E. I think he’ll be able to find it. And I’m happy for it. When they did that stupid splits thing when Steph called them out at the beginning of Smackdown... THATS what I absolutely hate. I don’t want THAT Big E hanging in the main event.

I mean seriously if they all retire tommorow they are all garaunteed to be like immediate additions into any kind of Wrestling Hall of Fame that had any qualifications. let alone the WWE's "They were popular" and are on good terms with us of hte WWE one... hell you could easily make a claim they'd deserve the main inductee slot. Which is unbelievable considering where this whole thing started and then was dropped and changed to the smiley clapping babyfaces... it's proof that sometimes leaning in to the skid actually works and they just kept being more and more obnoxious with their act. As long as you know... the people in charge are willing to go with it too... (then again they kinda forced the WWE's hand >_>)

Big E himself can do the "semi-serious/semi-goofy" character already. We've seen that within these past few months when he was on his own. Just keep that. He doesn't need to completely abandon his goofiness because that's essentially who he is as a person. It makes him more relatable, more understood and it makes him standout. You mean serious babyface #233304449494949 is gonna be it? Nah man. I'm happy for Big E. He'll be world champion but shit it'll be like Reigns when he won the title to a degree (except the hate). By that I mean it wasn't who he truly was, it'll be who they wanted him to be. It's far different than today's Reigns carrying the belt. I'll see what happens. I just don't want them to f*** up Big E because well, we've seen them do it in the past and thankfully New Day rid of us that.

It’s so easy too, let him be the goofy, perpetually inappropriate and borderline erotic Big E who can do silly voices in his interviews, but then he business in the ring. Plus when he’s in a serious blood feud, he can drop the silly in his promos and suddenly shit gets real. It’s literally how they booked The Rock.

During a general era where I have not been high on WWE overall as a show, New Day were an amazingly consistent--even if not perfect--bright spot who, even during some pretty bland times would have absolutely incredible matches, and Kofi's rise to the top was a beautiful moment with all the story elements I could ask for. An all-time great team, no question about it.
