After the G1 Climax is resolved, the build for Wrestle Kingdom begins.
The Power Struggle tour begins on Friday the 23rd of October, with 10 Road To Power Struggle shows up until Thursday the 5th of November.
The card announced is below, with 6 major singles matches announced. The official announcement can be found here.
Main event: IWGP Intercontinental & Heavyweight Double Title Match: Tetsuya Naito vs EVIL
EVIL continues his mission to dethrone the double champ Tetsuya Naito. After claiming a victory over the champion in the G1, followed by a tag team victory in the finals. EVIL cemented his place as the last Challenger for Naito in 2020. The two are 1-1 in championship matches, with EVIL's G1 victory being the difference maker.
5th Match: Double IWGP Right to Challenge Contract Match: Kota Ibushi vs Jay White
A rematch of the 2019 G1 Climax finals and the Consolation match of the Double Gold Dash. Ibushi once again sees Jay White standing between him and Godhood. As a back-to-back G1 Winner, never before has the contract been in such a perilous position for Ibushi. Can Jay White become the first man to win the contract from the G1 winner?
4th Match: IWGP US Heavyweight Championship Right to Challenge Contract Match: KENTA vs Hiroshi Tanahashi
With US Champion Jon Moxley still exiled in the US, the Number 1 contendership may as well be considered the interim champion for the time being. The Ace has already laid claim to the British Heavyweight Championship in 2019, and now has his eyes set on the US. Can KENTA hold on to the briefcase which helped him in the G1?
3rd Match: Kazuchika Okada vs Great-O-Khan
The Great-O-Khan shocked NJPW by returning to NJPW and helping Will Ospreay betray the CHAOS leader. Now under Will's new stable, the Empire. The former Young Lion now looks to take on the Rainmaker in his first singles match back. The Rainmaker faces a new challenge, after being denied G1 glory. Can the Rainmaker make the first step on his road to revenge against Ospreay?
2nd Match: NEVER Openweight Championship Match: Minoru Suzuki vs Shingo Takagi
It's Suzuki vs Shingo, nothing more needs said. These two will batter the shit out of each other, and it will be great.
1st Match: Provisional KOPW 2020 Match: Toru Yano vs Zack Sabre Jr.
The Sublime Master Thief faces off against the submission expert Zack Sabre Jr to determine the King of Pro Wrestling. With fans deciding the stipulation, which wrestler will be favoured? Will we see ZSJ in his comfort zone with a submission match, or will the fans vote for a "You can only win by tying your opponent to a Young Lion" match? God only knows what we'll see here.
