Yeah, I like that Ishimori gets some play lately, but Gedo, Togo, and Jado especially need to obviously keep wrestling to a bare minimum. Shame ELP is presumably not available, he'd definitely help matters.

The card for the first Road To show is available here: www.njpw1972.com/83246Alongside the usual 6-man tags, we also have: The 6-man belts are on the line as the CHAOS trio of Ishii, Goto & YOSHI-HASHI defend against Suzuki-Gun's Taichi, ZSJ & DOUKI. Naito & SANADA take on EVIL & Dick Togo. Gabriel Kidd gets the luxury of teaming with (and taking the fall for) Kazuchika Okada as Okada continues his fight against the Empire. Kidd never really came across Ospreay or the O-Khan in the UK, so this will be a tough test for him.

Suzukigun heavily damaged Ishii's knee Sunday to weaken him before Friday Suzuki vs Ishii would definitely be a treat Wrestle Kingdom. Think it's safe to say at any rate that Suzuki's gonna be busier this time around at the Dome compared to last year.

Suzuki/Goto needs to win tag league and challenge for the tag belts against Taichi/ZSJ at WK Since they are doing Suzuki/Shingo right now, I can't see them doing it again at WK. Juice Robinson has been involved in a title match the last few WKs so I can see him getting a shot against Suzuki or Shingo for the NEVER title

I think Tanahashi wins the US briefcase

I think Tanahashi wins the US briefcase I'm leaning more into that way of thinking as well. Using this US briefcase as a "precedent" of sorts for when the Dome contract inevitably changes hands. I'm really looking forward to the Jay/Ibushi match because I'm pretty certain I'll be going into that match with genuine belief that Jay can win.

The G1 is so grueling that I don't think I ever want to see a scenario where the G1 Winner loses it. MAYBE temporarily at KOPW before winning it back at Power Struggle but even then it would have to tie in to some narrative. I do expect major shenanigans when Ibushi/White face off leading to White/EVIL at WK

I think Tanahashi wins the US briefcase I'm not sure how I feel about that to be honest. Tanahashi is my ACE forever but, KENTA deserves an IWGP reward for being consistently one of the most entertaning parts of NJPW since his heel turn.

I also feel as though they hinted at Juice/KENTA after Juice beat him during the G1. Guessing KENTA retains the case against Tana and defends against Juice on NJPW Strong.

KENTA has been amazing as the incredibly bitter jackass. Like, sometimes he comes off as an even more miserable bastard than Suzuki (despite his weird "Cameraman Dating Sim" promos). And it's wonderful.

The other issue is this: Tanahashi has been in the middle of this story where the quesiton has been "Does the ACE still have what it takes to compete in New Japan?" A question that has brought a lot more doubt than catharsis to the angle.
At some point, Tanahashi has to get a big win. That's what this is leading to. I don't know where, I don't know when, I don't know how, I don't know who against. Still, it has to lead to him triumphing over a big opponent.

Wouldn't be surprised if he got another IC title run You can do about anything with the ACE right now. I wouldn't even rule out a NEVER run since Tana can get physical and having him be more aggressive would be a nice change of pace

Does he want to keep doing that while doing as much for the promotion as he is now? Especially as NEVER champion? He'd be wrestling Goto, Ishii, Suzuki, and Shingo every month. Possibly EVIL from time to time, as well. It's fine to wrestle an aggressive style occasionally but, every month? I don't know if even he'd want that at this point.

Could use it to focus on some of the Juniors, for example instead of Tana Vs Ishii, we get Tana Vs Hiromu or SHO instead.

True but you don't have to lean into strong style Let Tana be a little glorious self serving ass hole that he's good at. Talk down and say he is going to change the NEVER division because they aren't wrestling right
