I may be getting the names wrong but Arn Anderson (I think?) just told the story about The Fullers (I think?) and how they would notice business was dying down so they'd sell the territory to some mark, wait for it to actually go out of business because the guy who bought it wouldn't know what he was doing, and then reopen later on using the same company name.

APW. Almost sued into bankruptcy under previous owner Roland Alexander due to the wrongful death lawsuit involving Great Khali and Brian Ong. Just a few years ago was a distant 2nd to fellow Bay Area indy BTW. Under current owner Markus Mack, APW has completely turned around. Consistently booking big name talent and drawing good sized crowds (pre-Covid) for a part of the country that doesn't care too much about wrestling. I will say however that from my personal interactions with Mack he comes off as kind of a tool bag. Who ran APW between Alexander's death and this Markus Mack guy? Was Gabe Ramirez or Jason Deadrich or someone involved? Which of them sold it to the current owner? I asked a friend of mine who's far more knowledgeable than I am about these kind of things and has done freelance work for APW and even he's not really sure.
