Like why Teddy Hart?

Mental illness, combined with a lineage that allowed people to overlook his behaviour.

Mental illness, combined with a lineage that allowed people to overlook his behaviour. Also STUPID talented. Reminds me of Randy Orton in that he just has IT. Unlike Orton, Teddy never got help and continues to spiral down.

As you can see, the real deal with Teddy Hart is that he's Bret Hart’s nephew. He's in his early forties, is unmarried, and currently resides in jail.

He thought that the cage was 30 feet high.

Fun fact: Teddy Hart once went to Mexico without ever leaving his living room thanks to some expired horse tranquilizers.

Unlike Orton, Teddy never got help and continues to spiral down. I honestly never really saw anything in Teddy. Dude was given constant chances that he never would have if he was Ted Jones... and he blew literally all of them. Hell the WWE fired him twice... when they kept Orton through ALL of the shit he pulled while still not really giving like any return on the investment (again at the time of Orton's problems.)

Never saw anything in his look, and didn’t see him wrestle until I watched all of MLW Fusion. Dude is a natural at everything he does. He’s intriguing and I don’t even know why. I wasn’t even a Bret Hart fan, HBK was my dude. Teddy was a HUGE waste of potential. He could’ve been huge.

Never seen so much talent from someone so immature. Imagine Randy Orton mixed with Austin Aries entitlement and now times that by 10.

He had talent and all, but Jack Evans is, and always was, much more interesting to me.

Hell the WWE fired him twice... Marty Janetty: “Hold my beer...” He just needs one more firing on his punch card and he wins a free hoagie

Probably the most talent out of the gate without any hard work in last 30 years. And that's exactly the cause of all his problems. Kids oozing talent get their ego in sky easily and mess up on step one. Those who work hard have to have their head leveled and eventually they do take over talented kids who don't work at all. Teddy knows he can count on his talent to make a living whenever he needs to. Guy is in his 40s and he can still go big time and the worst fact is that he can main event WWE or AEW right now and be a huge draw. That's how much talent and presence he has. God gives something to that Hart family when it comes to wrestling, it's no coincidence Bret, Owen and Teddy are beyond good in the ring.

Had he the self-discipline and eagerness to improve, and the respect for the craft of that other ultimately-problematic Dungeoneer-Who-Shall-Not-Be-Named, Teddy could have been one of the biggest names coming out of that background, bigger even than his uncles Bret and Owen. However, he was never corrected on his ego issues and had the trauma of losing his brother during childhood (Matthew Annis, who'd died of necrotizing fasciitis in 1997.) He might have been given an easier time of it as a result of that, but it did him no favours professionally.
If Benoit's positive lesson is that great wrestlers can be made with hard work and discipline, Teddy's lesson is that being born a great wrestler is a gift that can be squandered through bad conduct and a lack of discipline.

He’s in his 40s and despite being in good shape his look is still very 90s and looks ridiculous these days. Couple that with the wear and tear, the limited name recognition, and the volatile personality, I can’t really see either company thinking he’s worth the risk of bringing in, let alone pushing him to the main at the expense of guys who have never been arrested or smoked crack.

I really dislike the notion that anyone with talent can come in with no build and immediately be a huge draw. All Teddy has is being a good wrestler and his name. There's already plenty of other guys just as good in the ring as he is if not better who are younger and don't have the personality issues Teddy has. If you think the locker room hated Enzo I can only imagine what their reaction would be to Teddy's antics, and for that reason I don't even see him lasting long enough to make any kind of connection with the audience.

One crucial thing Teddy always lacked was a good look too. The dodgy facial hair, the shiny outfits, the sunglasses that look like they should have stayed in 2001, he's always looked either 15 years behind the times or at best like any other Johnny Kickpad on the indies.

So much talent. But yea demons and more than likely mental illnesses pretty much means unless he goes and gets lots of help he will never be in a big fed. To quote a buddy from the last time we both saw Teddy "Damn Teddy your PUssy is more over than you." Then Ramp pointed at Mr Money, not sure if it was 1,2 or 3.

You whats almost never discussed? Maybe losing his brother to cancer when they were teenagers messed him up? Teddy should be held accountable for his behavior but maybe it stems from not dealing with it in a healthy way.
