What really got to me about the Jinder reign was that post-brand split Smackdown was really really, really solid and well received for a good long stretch of time. AJ and Ambrose with strong main event runs, solid midcards, interesting use of talent, Talking Smack, a general reprieve from Stephanie during a period where Shane wasn't an overexposed and outworn presence yet... So much that was really good and fun. Then Nakamura fell short against AJ and there were a few cracks. Then the Jinder instapush and racism heel schtick started up and the dam f***ing burst.

Oh god it's such a blur, and I just remembered why: so I could push the Wyatt/Orton match out of mind because that was the shark jump moment. Ohhh f*** even worse than I remembered.

Just a reminder that Jinder Mahal was WWE champion.

I don't know if it has ever dawned on anyone, but I don't think Khali is not even from the Punjab region of India. He's not, though the state he was born in (Himachal Pradesh) does border Punjab and he was in an officer in the Punjab Police before becoming a wrestler. So despite how much grief this stupid gimmick match gets, it does make complete sense that a Punjabi Prison would be the brainchild of a former Punjab Policeman. A rare logic point for WWE.

Huh, I just thought they went with it because of the alliteration.

Orton riding in a limo without pants to the spooky house... where the way to win is... to pin your opponent in the ring somehow...?

Oh, and Orton somehow ended up with Bray after being crushed by a fridge even though there were no other vehicles near the venue or any indication Orton could teleport. Also, the house was technically hundreds of miles from the venue itself but that’s not exactly “canon”. 😋

I must have been thinking of another time of him in a limo... cause I vaguely remember him wearing a shirt but no pants at one point

This needs to be said time and time again: Orton/Bray was at one point one of the hottest feuds in the company and part of that reason was the rise of Luke Harper and another being there actually felt like there was some excitement to a match between the two. Then WrestleMania happened.

Yeah, like, I wasn’t 100% a fan of that (and the “stabbing of Sister Abigail” afterwards) but people were losing their minds for that stuff. To the point the crowds were really hot for anything involving those two and Harper. And then, again, WrestleMania happened.

The pop when he tried Sister Abigail on Bray was amazing. ... Then apart from the battle royal with AJ I can't remember anything else he did until him and Rowan became Guitar Riff *Waah*

This is not a good match, but it is way more entertaining than it should be. But I kinda felt that way about all of Jinder's defenses.
