How many more years are the Sharks trapped under that Karlsson albatross?

How many more years are the Sharks trapped under that Karlsson albatross? After this season? 6 more years. I didn't like them giving him that contract but letting him go would have been a clear step towards rebuilding, and also the fans would have been pissed. But the ink wasn't even dry before everyone knew that was a bad contract.

And we have Marc-Edouard Vlasic for about the same amount of time and for an obscene amount of money. He was once a great roleplayer, but his skills have declined considerably. Best thing would be Seattle takes both him and Karlsson off our hands in the expansion draft.

Laine and Roslovic to Columbus
Dubois and a 3rd Rd pick to Winnipeg according to TSN
As a Jets fan, I do not like this trade at all. Roslovic isn’t an all star, but him for a 3rd rounder is a little much considering I think Laine for Dubois is a pretty reasonable 1 for 1 trade

Laine just never quite fit in Winnipeg. And it's funny because they already have a franchise center in Sheifele and they trade a premium scoring winger and get a 1C. And Conner is a stud, but Laine's scoring touch has been elite since day 1. Just getting meh minutes and a revolving door at center since he isn't 1st line. PLD is going to love going from Torts to Winnipeg. Laine is gonna hate it under Tortarella. Roslovic is a solid middle 6er. Dubois has the highest all-around ceiling, even though Laine's game has rounded out a little bit over the last season+. Don't think Laine stays in CLB, but they have a shit ton of cap room so who knows?

Great deal by Columbus. Only thing that is concerning is how Laine and Tortorella will get on, but hopefully having Mikko Koivu around will help out on Laine settling into the team.

I expect him to go to arbitration after this season and likely getting traded away before he hits UFA to someone who can and will pay him. Winnipeg I think has a 50/50 chance of locking down Dubois long term. Wouldn’t be at all surprised to see Dubois sign another bridge deal tho

When your team's supposed to suck, but this kid's killing it and now you've gotta fight real hard to keep your hopes from getting too high for this year:

Either David Quinn is that shitty of a coach or The Rangers generational talent isn’t there. I’m worried

Either David Quinn is that shitty of a coach or The Rangers generational talent isn’t there. I’m worried They've been terrible. TERRIBLE. I can't see us making the playoffs. I wish we would just trade De'Angelo and get it over with. He's obviously distracted with his other off-ice stuff and it's affecting his play. He's not going to be here long term so get rid of him while he still has some value. Play Hajek and give him a final legit chance to show whether he stays or goes. Miller has been an absolute beast. Kakko and Chytil have looked good. Di'Giuseppe is making the most of his ice time and has been one of the better players. Laf has looked lost but I don't put any blame on him because when he's been with Zib and Kreider, the line mates are playing clueless out there. That's baffling to me - they obviously know how to play but I lost count of how many bad plays they've made and how many times they've been out of position and indecisive with the puck. Panarin has struggled. Strome has been invisible. Goaltending hasn't been great but I would say it's more of the way the team has played and it feels like they're hung out to dry a lot. Buch has been alright - but he's an expiring contract. I wouldn't be shocked if he's gone at the deadline. Kakko and Kravtsov are the long term top two RW's so if Buch wants a decent raise I could see him going. He's not a top six winger you win the cup with. Trouba, who I didn't really want in the first place, has SUCKED. SUCKED. SUCKED. What the hell was Larry Brooks thinking with that article he should be captain? I'm hoping that was a subtle way of telling him to pick it up. He gave him praise with last year's playoffs and he sucked then too. With Fox, Lundkvist, and Schneider our long term outlook at RD, Trouba should be gone the second his NTM is lifted in four years. Terrible contract and I'm predicting now he will be bought out if they can't trade him. Woof. We're tied for last place in the league with Ottawa, and really, it's deserved. If we lose again to Buffalo tomorrow I'd say Quinn is on the hot seat. If we lose to Buffalo and the next two to Pittsburgh, goodbye Quinn, hopefully hello to Gerard Gallant. On the bright side, I wouldn't mind another top 10 pick this year. We need another top LD and there's plenty in this year's top 10. Beniers and Johnson are also stud C's and we need another C. I'm already looking at the 2022 draft which has the potential to be the deepest in history. ADA, Strome, Lemieux, and Geo are the expiring contracts and I don't see them in the long term plans. That could get a very good haul at that deadline to build for that draft. Zib is also expiring then. I'm already fascinated with what they are thinking with him long term. If he's asking for huge money, with his injury history and not getting any younger, do they resign him or get a big haul? Would like to hear your opinion.

It's a little early, but I think we can safely bet on Jordan Kyrou ending up as one of the 3 greatest hockey players to ever live.

Good riddance. See ya! He started a fist fight with Georgiev after the game. Kreider stepped in and apparently TKO'd De'Angelo. More reports are coming out about De'Angelo - such as him being a massive dick to K'Andre Miller. He has a past of being suspended in the OHL for using racial slurs. He also collected Miller's puck for his first goal and still hasn't given it to him and may have thrown it out. During the player intros to the last game Miller was supposed to be lined up beside him and Miller skated to the other end of the line. No team wanted him over the summer, no team expected to pick him up now.
